Even if there was a "seditious coup de' tat", that would have happened in DC. New York has no jurisdiction there.

The DA wouldn’t go to a Grand Jury to seek a misdemeanor charge. He is obviously seeking a felony charge. It is simply unclear which one or ones he has in mind. And it’s silly to assume that anything will legally work.
