Those arresting the thugs are in uniforms with arm patches for identification. They are Federal officers and they have the authority and responsibility to protect any and all Federal Buildings and property. Have none of you heard of unmarked cars? This isn't difficult. We have the 1st amendment protected right to lawfully assembly and petition/confront our government for a redress of grievenences.

The police are granted powers to arrest people who are in violation of specific criminal codes. Assault, arson, car jackings, destruction of property are examples of such violations. The police are able to make arrests of people they witness committing such offenses but they are required to do so in accordance with the laws that in turn grants them their police.

As the ACLU mentions, grabbing people off the street is generally considered kidnappying. Why do you have a problem with them acting in accordance with established law?

Oh so you want the law to act in accordance with the law, but you figure that it's ok to give the rioters/protestor's a pass or green light when they break the law eh ??? Supporting lawlessness by standing up for gangs and groups figuring that they need to break the law in order to be heard is just pathetic. Try trashing the rioters/protestor's when they act stupid by breaking the law, then people might take you serious.
