When has the Catholic Church ever asked for 10%. The Catholic Church does not require anything from the poor, because they can't afford to give. Corinthians 16:2.

You are confusing Roman Catholicism with the Protestant tithing thing.

WRONG as I can remember the local Catholic priest coming round and demanding 10% of the male members income as the Churches portion, my grandmother ran him of with a broom. She was a Protestant and did not believe in that sort of thing
