I respectfully disagree. It is quite the opposite. If our lives don't turn out how we wished, we don't blame anybody. It might not be our fault, but being fairly close to the natural world, we realize that it is just the way life is. Nobody is given a guarantee, simply being born is not a golden ticket for anyone. If my life doesn't work out the way I wished, my first thought is not how to extract things from other people to make it better.

Maybe you need to evaluate your view of the problem. I don't think 'solving' poverty is remaking society so that single mothers with three kids working at a minimum wage job is the new normal. It isn't cruel or unjust to promote effort and good choices. Making other people pay for your student loans is not an answer or a good idea. You can tinker with the safety net, look for ways to help widows and cancer patients, but to try to create a society where everyone who is born ends up in the exact same situation is monstrous. I was joking with my math example, but some people will just have skills that are more marketable than others. Who is blaming others for their inability? It is an adult's job to teach their children to make good choices, and to work hard, and to treat others well. To try to recreate society so that none of those things matter is monstrous.

Thank you for the response. I look at Trump differently. He didn't promise to use the government to fix people's problems. He tried to get the government to not add to the problems. For the most part, he was successful. Unemployment went down for everybody. As for blaming others, I don't see where you are getting this. Fixing immigration would be good for every ethnicity. It would be common sense. The blame for poverty is not on the people of any ethnicity, it is squarely on the government that is dividing us by appearance. While MSNBC said Trump was Hitler, fixing immigration is not anti-Latino, and tackling terrorism is not anti-Muslim. Selling out all our jobs to other countries is not anti-whichever country is taking our jobs, it is pointing out a problem caused by government. Trying to keep good jobs with tactics such as a competitive corporate tax is again good for every ethnicity. I don't think skin color has anything to do with good policy or giving 'every' American the best chance at succeeding. Neither Trump, nor people from the Midwest are responsible for the government getting in the way of people's ability to succeed. I can't agree that people from the Midwest are mistaken in believing the government can't do anything but hurt people by socially engineering the country. We agree that hard work, good choices, and kindness to others are huge factors to well-being, we don't need to completely reconstruct how society works. We just need to govern SMARTER. We get rid of waste and corruption, and I would bet that 'every' American would be much better off. Why make fixing terrorism and immigration racist acts? Why does America need to make one sided horrible treaties and trade deals and just accept it?
