Which political party is primarily causing GRIDLOCK in Washington?

I looked through the bills. Most of them were never written to be implemented. Some of them are just blatant political statements, something to use in campaign speeches.

True. Unnecessary meddling. The Country's doing just fine without these 300 or so bills. They were a huge waste of time & money. 'Doing Something' doesn't necessarily mean that 'something' is good. Sometimes 'Doing Nothing' is the right way to go. In fact, i would say it's the right way to go most of the time.

Well, some of those "unnecessary bills" were required by the Constitution! They are called budgets.

We have not had a budget for years. In spite of the Housing passing many of them, they never get to a vote because of The Senate's Majority Leader who happens to be a Democrat!!!!! :bang3:
House and Senate have agreed on temporary funding through Dec 11th at the 2014 level. With the 2014 deficit at 494 billion, about the same as 2008 and 2015 only slightly higher, you would think they would be able to agree.

Deficits are of little political interest these days since the current deficit is at 1/3 it's 2009 peak of 1559 billion.

Republican are praying for just one more Ebola case before the midterms so they can declare an epidemic in the US and Democrats are hoping for a miraculous recovery of our one Ebola case so they can declare their policies work.
.

I say Republicans! The Boehner/McConnell Republicans have made that clear since President Obama was elected.

It's objectively true and irrefutable it's Republicans. But that's only because there's a Democrat President. If it were a Republican President, it'd be the Democrats causing obstruction. Of course that's how it's supposed to work so not really a thing.

I don't recall Democrats obstructing Bush like Republicans are obstructing Obama. Bush got his wars and funding.

The Denocrats favored quite well upon the election of Obama.

Obama got his stimulus spending bill

He got his 99 week federal unemployment extensions that doesn't create any government revenue toward the snowball rolling debt.

His administration received their GREEN jobs spending spree towards companies for their political favors, which (to everyone's utter shock) each kept hidden their financial woes tilting on bankruptcy.

The healthcare bill came next - "we gotta pass it to find out what's in it" and "If you like your health care plan you can keep it" to which Nancy Pelosi bogged down the House to get the blue dogs to pass it, despite a growing opposition across the country.

Still it passed, and with a 10% unemployment rate that soon followed by those not-quite-so-shovel-ready jobs, the people got fed up and Pelosi's speaker seat got the boot.

If the democrats and obama would stop trying to push their failed policies on America maybe then we could get something done. But come November with no obstructions from the democrats we might can make a change for the better

How many times have Democrats shut down the federal government?

How many times have Democrats threatened to shut down the federal government?

TIME just published “The Party of No,” an article adapted from my new book, The New New Deal: The Hidden Story of Change in the Obama Era. It reveals some of my reporting on the Republican plot to obstruct President Obama before he even took office, including secret meetings led by House GOPwhip Eric Cantor (in December 2008) and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (in early January 2009) in which they laid out their daring (though cynical and political) no-honeymoon strategy of all-out resistance to a popular President-elect during an economic emergency. “If he was for it,” former Ohio Senator George Voinovich explained, “we had to be against it.” The excerpt includes a special bonus nugget of Mitt Romney dissing the Tea Party.

10 ideas Republicans loved until Barack Obama became President

The party of NO planned their obstructionism even before Obama was sworn in.
Harry Reid is THE epitome of obstructionist. He sits on over 300 bills that have come over from the Republican House and he won't let the Senators vote on them. Harry is the goddamned problem!

Just wait 'til January when he gets deposed!

Harry Reid is sitting on 300 NaziCon shit bills sent over from the NaziCon House. Thank you, Harry. Unless Republicans win a veto-proof majority - how will these 300 NaziCon shit bills be signed into law? Obama sure as hell won't sign them.

How many times have Democrats shut down the federal government?
How many times have Democrats threatened to shut down the federal government?
Every single time it's happened.
Really? Please give us some "credible" proof.
Only a mindless partisan bigot would require an explanation. :dunno:

Shutdown happens when an agreement cannot be reached on revenue/spending.
The Democrats are every bit as guilty for any failure to reach an agreement as you say the GOP is.
And so: the Democrats have shut down the government every single time its happened.
