Poll results have been consistent over six months and were affirmed Monday: two-thirds of Palestinians would like President Mahmoud Abbas to resign after a string of policy failures. Yet the Palestinian leader does not appear to be under palpable domestic or international pressure to step down.

Poll: Two-Thirds of Palestinians Want Abbas to Resign

It is interesting to note that nowhere in the article is the constitutional procedure for replacing a president mentioned.

This is just another case that suggests that Arab-Palestinians are unable to establish a stable government.

Very few people really expects the Arab-Palestinian to follow any type of legal transfer of power. If Mahmoud Abbas is not President, then who. Remember, Khaled Mashal, is in exile. They would have to smuggle him into the country.

You are being silly. You are continuing to exhibit your racist persona. Of course a people under occupation cannot establish a stable government or guarantee any type of transfer of power. The Vichy government was only stable because the Germans enforced stability, as an example.

This is an AP article and AP reports from Israel so that has to be taken in consideration.

Also the US/Israel do not want the constitution followed.

My guess is that it will be another foreign appointed dictator.

So two thirds of Palestinians want to be ruled by Hamas, an organization that has been declared TERRORIST by most of the world, and has sworn to completely destroy Israel. How heart warming. And Israel is expected to "make peace" with this mindset.

Hamas is a constitutionally protected political party in Palestine.

The Palestinians take little interest in foreign name callers.

Yeah, why call a terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel, names? They don't have time for "international opinion", after all, they're too busy suicide bombing, using their own women and children as human shields, and shooting missiles at Israel from behind schools and hospitals.

So how did Japan and Germany manage to do so after WW2 ?
So much so that they became world leaders in industry while still under occupation.

Does that include arab name callers as well, they are hardly foreign unless Palestine is not an arab state ?

I would like to see a similar poll on Hamas!

Protected party or not... It's high time there were open, free elections!

Indeed, but the last time the US and Israel allowed free elections the Palestinians voted for the wrong people.

They aren't going to let that happen again.
