Because it took a while to bring all industries up and running again after complete shut down, and China was on lockdown for another year or two after the rest of the world opened, and it takes 3 to 6 months to get something manufactured and shipped here from the Orient and Indonesia...plus people were slow to return to work, so businesses had to entice Americans with higher pay to get them back to work, which added to the inflation.

Biden brought the inflation rate down from around 9% in mid 2022 down to nearly 2.9% rate by Dec 2024

Prices went up under Biden due to COVID and supply side issues, THROUGHOUT the whole WORLD.... Biden's legislation and stimulus did not cause world-wide inflation.

The stimulus is accredited with actually giving the USA an advantage coming out of COVID by some vs. the rest of the Nations in the world, and the USA recovery economy was envied by all comparable Western Nations....

Don't get me wrong, it was still painful...but it was not Biden who caused it, which is clear by the fact that inflation occurred EVERYWHERE in the world after COVID.

But who made sure that COVID restrictions were still in full-force in blue states for years?
Who closed down schools for a full year so that kids stopped learning?
Who kept mask requirements in force when it became clear that they weren't working?
Who went on maternity leave for 4 months when he should have been at work as Commerce Secretary and made sure that there were no shortages and bottlenecks at our international ports, instead adding more regulations to slow down trade and increase prices of essential items like baby-food and toilet paper?

Answer: The Biden Administration and Pete Buttigieg.
