AzogtheDefiler - what are we supposed to do with this shit? I'm not seeing anything to convince me that run-of-the-mill Trump supporters are capable of standing up to him. They're too consumed by the two-party pissing match, idiot paranoia, team loyalty at all costs and the motherfucking culture war. They don't even bother to read what people post, they just jump to their pre-programmed responses and start a mutual circle jerk. The only hope I can find is in imagining that most people, outside of USMB, aren't so bonkers. But I'm not at all convinced that's the case.

It'd be nice to see more people thinking for themselves.
Everything here is politically based, so it's left or right by nature. Hence the "wings"

When you make a post like that, around here, it comes off as partisan. That's just how it is. If i make a mistake, I'll apologize for it, but you have to give a little latitude considering where we are.

When you silence people they shout. When you censor people they rebel. You are seeing a rebellion and Trump is the leader and face.

The supporters have been vilified, shunned, shamed, called deplorable and garbage. They see Trump whose political adversary unleashed the DOJ on. They tried to bankrupt him, shame him, imprison him and even kill him. Meanwhile the majority of traditional news media outlets support this bias.

Many see that he understands their plight because of the pain points he has faced. So now that he won and people accuse him of being Hitler they have had enough to where hypotheticals also throw em into a rage.

Hope this helps

Politics aren't left/right "by nature". That's created by the two-party system and its incessant fear mongering.

When you start off with a bullshit premise, don't be surprised if no one takes you seriously.

Will you learn anything from this?

The smart money says no.

I understand why its happened. Fear, rage, righteous indignation. It's a recipe for disaster.

Things are going to get ugly.

Things have already been ugly. I see things improving as people are no longer scared to show their support. Look at the athletes, actors, podcasters, etc.

When I was a kid, reading history, I was always baffled by the Holocaust. I always wondered how people could stand by and let it happen, or even participate in the atrocities. What must they have told themselves to make it all seem ok?

I feel like I'm getting an object lesson.

Then why do you keep pushing the fear?
I'm not. You have no reading comprehension and you're paranoid. You're consumed by the Trumpster ethos that smart people are trying to trick you. It doesn't go much further than that.

I hope your right, but I have very little reason to believe that's true.

The Left are the ones causing 90% of the issues with their open borders, turning a blind eye to looting, attack on women sports, defund the police rhetoric.

The Democratic Party has moved too far left and they eat their own.

He sat by as women’s sports and locker rooms were attacked while he was worried about a red hat it seems. Pretty sad.

You're not pushing fear?
No. I'd hope for this thread to be an opportunity to assuage fear, to prove that Trump supporters aren't just trolls and nutjobs. To show that, if it comes down to it, they'll side with freedom and push back against tyrannical leaders.

Instead, you've shown me that's not the case. That winning the culture war and fighting for your party is all that matters.
