Poll: Americans want the government to manage the effects of climate change

Poll: Americans want the government to manage the effects of climate change

Of course.

Government officials told them that:

(a) Govt had the authority to "fight climate change" and
(b) Govt had the ability to "fight climate change".

So people said, "OK, go ahead and do it. Sounds good to me."

The fact that both claims were lies was never brought up.

If you lie enough, you can get people to agree to just about anything.

Hell, lies bought Obama two terms in the White House!

Republicans continue to lose the ideological battle in this country.

New poll finds most Americans want government to fight climate change - Yahoo News

While only 18 percent of Republicans said climate change was a very important issue to them — compared to 63 percent of Democrats and 40 percent of independents — 77 percent of respondents overall said the federal government should be taking action to combat global warming.

ROFLMNAO!

Adorable...

So 77% of those polled were imbeciles.

What Government should do is track down those respondents and strip them of the means to vote.

It is good that you, a Republican, admit that you want to restrict voter rights. At least you are honest about it, despite the fact that you are anti-American.

IF there is a 'right to vote'. That right is sustained through the responsibility to vote RESPONSIBLY...

And a Responsible voter is NOT one who suggests that government should regulate that which it has no means to so much as influence.

Such people who suggest otherwise are poorly suited for freedom. So poorly suited, that they're precisely the sort who would use their right to vote, to vote away their freedom.

But hey... such is the nature of evil.

LOL! Well, we're all about to see if that's true. And when the smoke clears, there won't be sufficient Leftists in this nation to start a poker game. So you keep running your mouth. THAT WAY... when you idiots kick it off, the servers of this and thousands of other sites will work well in creating the lists necessary to solve the problem.

I just followed the links provided in the OP, you can't really compare the two because the questions were different. Plus the 2011 survey the interviewers were instructed to ask for the youngest person in the house over 18, the 2015 was a random adult. Then they further skewed the data by adjusting it as explained below, they are not presenting raw data so people can see for themselves.

"The combined results have been weighted to adjust for variation in the sample relating to geographic region, sex, race, Hispanic origin, marital status, age, education and (for landline households) the number of adults and number of phone lines. In addition, the sample was adjusted to reflect the percentage of the population residing in mostly Democratic counties, mostly Republican counties and counties more closely balanced politically."

You said the poll is from 2011, and I told you why the yahoo site brought up a 2011 poll and that wasn't the poll the OP was talking about, and then you go on about how the comparison isn't fair. The original topic is simply that 77% of Americans voted in the poll that the government should take action to prevent climate change, that's totally unrelated to the comparison yahoo makes to the 2011 poll.

I want government to disappear.

I suggest you move to Somalia.
You are under the commonly held belief that without government, we will have chaos. That is rather silly when you consider the horrible chaos governments have caused throughout history.

Government is nothing more than FORCE. It owns a monopoly of FORCE. It's history is that of death, destruction, and suffering. Yet many Americans ignore this fact, and believe we must have government.

Government is not a necessary evil...it is an unnecessary evil. There is no such thing as a 'necessary evil.'

Government is inadequate for the complexities of modern life and it proves this every day with it's constant failures. It is time to eliminate government.
