Not like it was. After 2 major School shootings and a loaded Movie House, things had to change. And yes, we still have people try and get in position over and over. They either get thwarted by the 21 year old purchase, the X number of days waiting or they get bagged while transporting to the killing site. And we put a stop to the AR Cult that was feeding most of it. Even so, I can buy as many guns as I want and as many rounds of ammo. And the day of the mass school shooting is over.

If I am walking down the sidewalk while carrying an AR, chances are, a Cop (or 6) are going to ask me why I am carrying the AR. Once I give a reasonable answer, I am free to go about my way. Of course, I am shadowed. If this makes me uneasy, maybe a concealed 9mm may work out better the next time out. What this has done is to break the AR Cult that was the driving factor for mass shootings without taking away my right to own and AR or just about anything that isn't illegal under the Federal Firearms Act. Just because I have a license to own a Bazooka doesn't mean I have the moral right to walk up and down the sidewalk wielding it.

You can't completely stop it with just laws. But you can slow it down. Ever wonder why the majority of the mass shootings are not done in the states with the weakest gun regs?

And all live next to states with extremely low gun regs and the guns are funneled in. Besides, the last couple of years, it's been primarily Texas and Florida with one California thrown in. The difference between CA and Tx and Fl is that CA shootings in the last couple of years has been with the legal, easy to buy handgun while Tx and Fl has been AR knockoffs. I don't know about you but I can do one hell of a lot more damage much quicker using the AR than I can with any off the shelf 9mm.

So what you are saying basically, is that these blue state's you are defending can't control their borders when it comes to guns, so maybe they should take some tips from Trump on how to control the border in so that the people in the specific state or states being affected can stop the trafficking of illegal weapons to the state's being affected ???

They lack the enforcement of the law as leftist run state's. It's almost like leftism is an advocate for criminals and criminal activity, because they take the sting out of LE actions to stop criminals and crime because a person got a bad start in life... It's like the blue state's are a tumor that metastasises, and therefore it ends up engulfing the entire body/state's if not treated early with the right methods.
