Look at the story linked to at the beginning to this thread the video is near the end. It shows the attacker coming from behind at a high rate of speed, so he's not running a distance race, he's sprinting and then after coldcocking the runner he exits the track and seconds later is seen walking in the opposite direction in the infield.
