Corporate funding is a significant, though not dominant, source of revenue for both PBS and NPR. While federal funding through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) is substantial, corporate underwriting contributes a notable portion to their overall budgets.

They just don't want those corporations sullying their broadcasts via the 'distasteful' practice of hawking their products over the pristine public airways.

The deep state is very big. It's like fighting a forest fire, but, forest fires do eventually get put out.

This strikes Me as a perfect laboratory experiment.

When, after a year, we see that NPR, PBS, and the others do survive based on traditional funding channels, we will then be able to point out that it was a waste of taxpayer resources for decades.

It then means we can use this as a case example of what other programs paid for by the taxpayer can also be stopped with no or little impact to the population as a whole.

I sometimes listened to NPR's Morning Edition back during my morning commute days. Car Talk with Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers, was always a hoot when I caught them on Saturday mornings.

With too much debt being passed on to future generations by our elected federal representatives all federal spending needs reviewed. I see this end of funding as being in line with Jimmy Carter's desire of government programs and agencies having a Sunset provision, with their automatic ending at a future point unless legislation approves their continuance.

Yesterday they reported on an Israel bombing at Gaza. They said "Israel claimed the bombs were retaliatory, but offered no evidence". This is a new tactic by the leftwing media. Only conservatives are required to supply present so-called evidence for every statement they make. No such evidence is required for leftwing statements.
