PGE adjusting your home temp during peak hours

I would have to look into it, but I think that PG&E mandated their customers use it or they'd be cut off from their service.

I could be wrong on that, but that is about PG&E's style.
PG&E and the democrats in CA have been pushing this since the 80s. They started it by giving customers a discount if they allowed for the disruption during peak. I guess now they have mandated it on everyone. I'm sure glad I got out of that shithole.

Anaheim owns their own electric utility....they never had a blackout in the 50 years i lived there...and they never forced you to get a thermostat....
Redding owns their electric too BUT you still need PGE for gas up there. And yes they make you get one when your old equipment goes bad

Do you still there or have you moved? If so when?

There was an initiative in the late 90s or early 2000s that allowed utility customers to choose their provider--I got my electricity from Modesto Irrigation District which was fairly priced and many PG&E customers switched, but for natural gas you were screwed--PG&E was the only game in town.

my niece still lives in Anaheim i texted her to ask if they have done that...she says not yet...Anaheim just asks them to be aware of what they are using.....thats what they do here in Vegas.....but you can get those smart thermostats...i have one but not connected to Nevada energy,,,,,

I have a smart thermostat as well in my new house but I haven't set up except to use manually. I don't trust it to be honest.

buy doing what it does i saw the savings on the bill....it wasnt a whole bunch but noticeable...
I just set mine for 75 during the day and 67 at night, keeps things nice and cool in here and once my metal roof is put on it'll help keep that air in better

yea i have been hearing about those roofs....
I noticed difference in my bills putting that on plus they usually come with a 40 year warranty but they'll last a lifetime and you'll never have to worry about shingles again
