There is a place where windmills work best and ,like around here, solar works like a charm. And we have a large series of Dams that are generating megawatts of power to go with them. We also have a handful of NG Plants but they are not real popular and cost way too much in comparison to the other types. But they are already built and are here to stay. Meanwhile, we are down to ONE Coal fired Plant and it's progged to be shut down completely by 2025. Around here, all towns are built along the waterways. It would be stupid if they don't use that free power. And most of the towns have small hyrdro plants and shut down the coal fired plants and even some NG plants.

The only thing useless in this subject is you.

The grid collapses when it is overused and poorly managed (like Texas in 2021, lol) or when it is manipulated like it was by Enron in CA the 2000s. California avoided a Texas 2021 last year but just barely because they prepared. But there's only so much that preparing can do when everyone wants to use the AC at the same time.

It's not the power generation, it's the infrastructure. You can have a gazillion watts of power but if your infrastructure can't hand it then that power won't make it to the consumer.

BTW, we are down to 1 Coal Fired plant in the Western side of Colorado. We have been shutting them down on a one for one basis as they are replaced by NG, Hydro, Wind or Solar. The last is to be shut down in 2025. The air sure has gotten a lot easier to breath.

Progs make these things into a stage event so they can take credit for things that are improving without them. They are the real P.T. Barnum's of politics. They are going to take credit for all of the so-called breakthroughs that already exist in green energy. They are just forcing them before they should be. Coal is dinosaur technology. Have no problem with it if that's all a state/country has, but we're more advanced than that - we don't need coal. Joe Manchin does because he needs fossil fuel $ and he needs to convince West Virginians that he still lives in the 1800s.
