PGE adjusting your home temp during peak hours

I remember being called a conspiracy theorist for saying this would happen. I've been telling you folks the Theory and Practice of Oligarchy Collectivism is real. They are forcing inequality on everyone and only the rich will be able to control the temps in their homes. Plebs will have their temperature controlled by the elites. No carbon credits? No comfy air for you!

No one ever buys this stuff until it's too late. It's just like the Franenshot. Many people took the Corona shot, and then had problems. They file a lawsuit, but what is the point? It's too late by then. You've already been damaged.

TYK speakum truth! Porkland Ore-gone another statist left marxnazi stronghold. What else could the GG's(gully gullible's) expect that signed up for the S/T program from yet another g'ment controlled unionized bureaucracy? If one can escape from the west side of the mountains to the east side of the mountains into eastern Oregon life gets somewhat better, except for the farmers.

I personally wouldn't care if it avoided a brown out. Changing your thermostat a couple degrees for a couple hours shouldn't be that noticeable if your house has solid insulation. Our city utilities will ask us to do the same for a different reason---their costs for the whole year are based in part on costs on I believe it is the 4 highest demand periods in the year--the 2 hottest days and coldest days usually.

I avoided a smart device for years in CA (not accepting. $50 or whatever prize to agree to it).

Finally they just installed it as mandantory. It was on the outside of house on the power meter thing I think. They can limit the Current? Power? into your home? I don’t think anyone changed the thermostat inside ever?

i cant say if they do.....i lived in Anaheim they had their own electric service and never had a rolling blackout...

since i am an owner of pacific gas and electric, a shareholder owned private sector corporation that controls governments, not the other way around i feel qualified to answer for the corporation.

That's how every bad starts, very small.

So small most people don't notice. The others just hand wave it away "it doesn't effect me right now so it's bogus" is their attitude. Others are so dumb and lazy they don't care about anything except watching tv and eating pizza. And a small few see the problem for it is, speak up, and called crazy conspiracy theorist's for it. Then one day we all look up and see it's too late.

It's like cancer. Unless it's some miracle no one knows they have a tumor when it first starts. They may feel discomfort or feel bad but ignore it. They may know something isn't right but they put it off. It isn't till things get bad enough they need to see a doctor it's gotten big.

But anymore it's hard when there is insane amounts of information coming at you from every direction and 3/4 of that information is a lie or only half true. Then people regurgitate that bad information and spread it further

There is a thread on this every year it seems.

These programs are opt in only, you have to sign up for the program and people do so because it saves them money year round, and then whine because they did not read the contract.

You are incorrect. These program are optional and one must sign up for it.

From the link...

Farmer says 200 thousand PGE customers are enrolled in programs like these.

PGE has over 900,000 customers.
 
Here's the deal. I work in the Energy Industry.

California produces 200 TWh of electricity a year.
California uses 260 TWh of electricity a year.
California is closing it's last nuclear plant in the 2030's - I doubt they can due to Mathematics.
California is actively closing 1/4 of their Coal Fire plants
California is pushing electric cars which will use... a lot more electricity.
California gets it's needed energy from Nevada and Arizona
It is currently 120 degrees in Nevada and Arizona... are they going to send us that energy... or keep it when needed?

California leadership is nearly criminal in their energy policy.

The electric company sent some quisling door to door around here a while back, trying to get me to install some trinket that would allow them to control when my ac runs. Or something like that.

I told him to hit the bricks, except in a nice way. lol.

It was kind of funny because as he was walking away, he was babbling about people not caring about the planet. That was actually a couple of years ago, now that I think about it.
