As of this posting Brooks Koepka is already at +5 and tied for 70th. You can't win on the first day but you sure can lose it on the first day. Last year's winner Xander Schauffele is at +2 and T49. Ryan Fox, who qualified for the PGA Championship by winning last week's ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, is at -5 and tied for the lead.

Can't watch any of it online today. It's all pay-per-view as far as I can tell and I pay no extra for sports online.

It's only Thursday, but the leaderboard doesn't look like what many thought it would. Some big names have gotta play really well tomorrow just to make the cut. By my count, 4 LIV players are in the top 50 ...Tyrell Hatton, Jon Rahm, Tom McKibbin and Bryson DeChambeau, in that order.

It's mudball mania! And some of the pros are saying that the mudballs will be even worse tomorrow! When Scheffler and Schauffle both hit duck hooks into the water on the same hole back to back something's wrong.

Someone else pointed out that they played the same course that the leaders played. I won't get to watch much of today's or tomorrow's round. Be Sunday afternoon before I'm in front of a TV again. Watched as much as I could yesterday.

The early projected cut line is +1. The early groups today are picking up some birdies on the front 9.

Charlotte is a great club!

I once shot a 72 there, but then didn't bother to play the back 9

I don't golf, but went to a driving range once

That's the obvious comment. The point is, when you have conditions like that, otherwise perfect drives in the fairway are penalized. And it is pure luck if your drives find dry spots or wet sports. But "fairway penalties" have always pissed me off just like having to play out of someone's divot from the middle of the fairway. As always JMO.

Thanks. That's the best I can do. ESPN+ is a premium channel.
Comes standard with Hulu, I've been watching the Scheffler, McIlroy and Schauffle group all day (they have coverage of 4 different groups and then regualr coverage on ESPN)

Rory is heating up today, playing under par all day, Scottie is his usual self, and Xander is struggling.

J. Vegas is leading but closed the round with a double bogey.

Looks like this year's winner will most likely be a first-time PGA Championship winner. From what I can tell, only 4 past winners made the cut. Keegan Bradley at T27 is the highest among them tonight.

Vegas is a good guy, he's never had a high finish in a major. He's battled a lot of injuries. I hope he can hang on and at least be in the mix on Sunday.

15th post
Man, Rahm put a shot on 10 off of some dudes head, the guy had a hard head, the ball shot off his nugget like it was fired out of a gun. He was a big dude and young so he shook it off, Rahm signed a glove for him and shook his hand.

Scottie Scheffler shot the low round of -6 today and leads by 3. The leaderboard changed a lot in the final holes/groups today.

On the road most of the day. Saw Scottie play the last 3 holes. Convincing win.

Rahm looked like the old Rambo for awhile, he was tied with 9 to go and then the wheels fell off. Maybe the LIV effect of getting used to 3 day tournaments and last day pressure gets them. Sheffler manages his game so well, he's really impressive.
