Every day or so another thread is started to try and sell you the nutty wall idea. Actually, the information in this thread shows the weaknesses in Donald Trump's philosophy.
Trump offers Nancy Pelosi amnesty for Dreamers if she will support his nutty wall proposal. Pelosi nixes the offer. Still, it gives us some insight as to where the haggling is going. IF Pelosi had agreed with Trump, there would have been 2 MILLION new Hispanic citizens.
Those Dreamers have parents and that means potentially 4 million more people that would be allowed into the United States simply because you cannot separate families over a silly ass civil misdemeanor that results in deportation and a $250 fine. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you're on, we know damn well that the Eighth Amendment would protect the 4 million parents. That would have given us 6 million people being allowed to stay in the U.S. and the bad precedents that Trump is setting would ultimately allow the Dems to give citizenship to the parents of Dreamers.
That is an example of Trump's Art of the Deal negotiating. It isn't sound political or legal policy. The build a wall advocates are being played. This issue is NOT about immigration. It is about free enterprise, YOUR Liberties, and government over-reach using the ignorance of the right to get socialist policies passed.
