Pete Hegseth's Pastor "I pray that God kills him (James Talarico)"

The appeal to hypocrisy, or tu quoque ("you too"), is a logical fallacy where a claim is dismissed by pointing out that the speaker's actions are inconsistent with their argument. It wrongly assumes that a person’s hypocrisy makes their argument false. It is a distraction technique (red herring) focusing on the speaker, not the argument.

Key Aspects of the Tu Quoque Fallacy
  • Definition: Latin for "you too," this argument attempts to discredit a position by accusing the speaker of being hypocritical.
  • Flawed Logic: The validity of a claim is independent of the behavior or consistency of the person making it.
  • Avoidance Tool:
It is often used to avoid defending one’s own actions by shifting the focus back to the accuser.
    • Whataboutism: A common form, especially in politics, used to discredit criticism by pointing out similar, often irrelevant, actions by the critic.
You do not know who gave a shit about Obama,s pastor. Lets see if you can defend what this scumbag said n its own merits
Every American is entitled to his or her OPINION. The point I am making is the obvious hypocrisy of accepting one Pastor's rhetoric while ignoring another PURELY based on political affiliation. I don't care what any random individual says wrt politics. I never post cherry pick videos and always call out their complete uselessness. Good to see you are still here! I thought you ran off to the sanctuary of some Left Wing Trump Hater board.

My post speaks specifically about the pastors. You have made several posts in this thread and NONE have condemned the violent rhetoric. You specifically are excusing right wing violent rhetoric... not any large unnamed group. You.
You’re a liar.

But even if you had bothered with honesty, it wouldn’t matter. I’m not obliged to jump through hoops to satisfy your petty whims.

By the way, why is it just this alleged “right wing” violence you are carping about?

Come on, you twit. I demand that you roundly and soundly condemn left wing violence and violent rhetoric.

You’re on the clock. Tic tick, *****.

Because right wing violence is very prominent. It happens a lot. The numbers play that out. You guys wet your pants over the 10% caused by lefties and spin your time discounting and ignoring the 90% by right wing organizations and people.

Neither would be best.

You don't seem to understand logical fallacies very well, The point that I SUCCESSFULLY made is that no matter how much of a hypocrite I or others might be, it does not change or justify what this asshat said

T invoke Obama's pastor is just a pathetic attempt to change the subject because you can't deal with the issue presented straight up and honestly. So it's not only an appeal to hypocrisy but also a red herring fallacy .........fallacies that are the last vestige of those who have no actual argument

Nonsense. Leftwing violence is far more pronounced.
It happens a lot.

Left wing violence? Yes.
The numbers play that out.
No. They don’t.

You make up your figures in order to support your obvious lies.

Every study shows so. Feel free to link a study, not a random article on one case.

Absolutely ZERO comparison between Left wing violence and Right wing violence.
The Left completely dominates that area.

Abortion is normal part of pregnancy and childbirth. 1/3 of ALL pregnancies end in a miscarriage. The medical name for a miscarriage is a "spontaneous abortion". Instead of providing women with health care when they miscarry, Republicans are sending women home to die.

God created abortions to end pregnancies which have gone wrong. Republicans are trying to force women to give birth, and women are dying because Republicans refuse to accept that not all pregnancies can or will end with a live birth.

The death rate for pregnant women in abortion ban states is 60 deaths for every 100,000 live births. The death rate for pregnant women in countries with health care for pregnant women is less than 7 deaths for 100,000 live births.

Abortion bans are KILLING you women
Wow .. I've seen and heard the short term/long term psychological effects from women who've had abortions in the aftermath and the various stages of their lives .. it's too sad and the justifications are too sad as well.

Sorry for bringing up the topic and I'm moving on..
