The first battle mentioned by you was more the evasion of confrontation by the Spartans, because the Athens refused to fall in the trick to escape or come against the enemy in open ground. Something similar to Spartan 300 movie, where you are in an excellent strategic location and you can defeat an enemy which can be tens times greater in numbers.

However, the same historians only mention the location of the battalion formed by homosexuals, but do not mention what was their effect in the middle of the battle, solely when the initial surprise contra attack was enforced.

On the second battle, the only one credited solely to the homosexual battalion victory, the credit was again given to the leader's genius strategy, in this case Pelopidas.
