Somebody has too much time on their hands.
Absolutely. If you're on welfare you shouldn't have time to go to strip clubs or liquor stores in the first place. You should be working.
Receiving public assistance doesnÂ’t mean one forfeits his civil liberties, either.
And millions who do receive pubic assistance via EBT cards
are working.
Further, EBT cards are used for more than just public assistance.
EBT cards can be used at ATMs to withdraw cash from them, including ATMs inside strip clubs, bars, liquor stores, ect. That's a fact.
Republicans are trying to prevent EBT cards from being used at ATMs inside those places.
ItÂ’s just as likely ATMs in those venues were accessed to withdraw cash subsequently used to buy food, clothing, and pay the rent.
The proposed law would be struck down as un-Constitutional.
There is no evidence pubic assistance recipients are making cash withdraws and using the funds to buy tobacco, liquor, or to gamble.
Without evidence of wrong-doing, this measure singles out a particular class of persons for punitive actions absent due process.
Consequently republicans are solely motivated by animus toward those receiving public assistance.
