Even if they are not native to your area, you could still unknowingly bring them into your home via groceries or an Amazon package...or UPS.

Just don't think about that when you're trying to sleep.

many of these are not in the USA which is a good thing and not on plantations

Ages ago in college working PT at a grocery store a black widow was in the shipping box

funny what I was a kid I managed to get a black widow into a mason jar with holes and feed it
not sure why...

it laid some eggs, harmless no male......until they hatched and babies in the jar

that went outside fast and destroyed

thats why its good to keep regular house spiders around as some of them can compete and kill spids like the Brown recluse and are harmless to humans

hobo, creepy and large.......only in the PACNW
introduced from Europe where they are native, used railroads to spread
Information suggests they hitched a ride in freight over 100 years ago

picture is a fat female, males are more skinny

apparently new research they don't usually bite or cause necrosis

they are one of the fasted spiders, the males can haul

I'm glad I never see spiders where I live.

When I lived in Hawaii for a little while there were all sorts of crazy creepy crawlies, like centipedes, millipedes etc. The bright green geckos were cool though. :)

It's funny that you should say that. Yesterday when I was taking a shower a big black spider that was on my body wash got on my left hand. Well,... I took the body wash and this is what happened next.
