Ya think? I think Perry knows how to appeal to the base of both parties, and if he wins, he may be around more than one term. He's in his 3rd Governorship in TX. That's never been done before, to the best of my knowledge.Perry is garlic for the Democratic vampires. He gains momentum daily. The more people hear him, the more they like him. He does not speak in scripted sound bites, and he has absolutely gets it. He has had 10 years plus in Texas politics, which is not a gentlemen's game. He is also badly underestimated by the Obama camp.
I'd look for a growing surge in momentum as he blows away the other candidates and sharpens his claws on Obama and his disgusting record of failure.

I've heard a few mentions by some financial talking heads of a Perry/Romney ticket.
That won't happen.
I don't think so either.
You're right. He did what no one else could have done in MA. The question is, can he take orders from a strong alpha Governor Perry to prosper American jobs the best?I like Mitt Romney because of his proven economic know-how.
That won't happen.
I don't think so either.
More likely Perry/Rubio.
Nice idea but Rubio is better off where he is when the Senate gets out of the claws of the Statists, and Reid loses his hammer. That won't happen.

Romney's still young enough to run in 2016. There's no way he's going to hitch his wagon to a nut like Perry.
I'll just ignore the "nut" part...anyone who thinks Obama has been anything but a miserable failure cannot expect to have their judgement taken seriously.
Romney's 2 and through.
He won't have a better opportunity than being VP after being rejected twice for the nomination.
It's whether his ego can take the hit that will be the deciding factor.
And if Perry wants him as number 2.
Outside of the little microcasm that is USMB is the real world. And in the real world Perry is not well liked. Not even by members of his own party. He comes with a LOT of baggage too. Right now, polling is pretty screwy for a couple of reasons. First the economy is lousy. But most people know that's not President Obama's fault. Second, the debt ceiling thing turned alot of people off to politics and the government in general (Which I suppose is the aim of the Tea Party).
And once people know more about Perry..they are really going to be turned off to him. He's a mean, nasty, petulant and angry man. Romney's not going anywhere near that.
Well, hot damn, Sallow, there ain't nobody smarter than a 20-year-old student of the knowitall school of politics, now, is there? /stiflling laughter.Ya think? I doubt he can win the General election.

This sort of thing is going to sink him quickly.
I don't know about that. It seems the Dems have shifted focus and are coming down hard on him. They have a habit of giving the easiest GOP candidate to beat a break. It's almost like the GOP lets the DNC nominate their candidate for them.Perry is garlic for the Democratic vampires. He gains momentum daily. The more people hear him, the more they like him. Your opinion is undermined by the poll.
I see you are attempting to discount it...but a poll of Republicans versus Republicans is skewed by neither Obama nor the economy.
Apparently Perry is VERY well liked....Romney and Paul have been running for president for 4 years....Perry for four weeks.
And yet he winning by a hefty margin.
The nomination is, at this point, his to lose.

The kid doesn't want an honest answer...he is a self proclaimed diehard Paul supporter.
Sallow's hoping for a McCain/Pawlenty/Huntsman type combo so O won't get landslided.

Well liked?
The Bushes hate him and so does Rove.
That might change if he gets the nod..but he's not getting any traction in the general.
There are way to many negatives with this guy. Something drastic..like UE going up past 11% would have to happen for him to have a chance.
I doubt he can win the General election.

The guy's a kid. Perry buried his finger into his chest. Had Obama ever done anything close to that..he'd be done.
