President Trump and members of his administration have said that Renee Good, the woman killed by a federal agent in Minneapolis on Jan. 7, “weaponized her vehicle” against the agent who shot her — an interpretation they claim is confirmed by the agent’s cellphone video.

“She didn’t try to run him over,” Mr. Trump said on the day of the shooting. “She ran him over.”

That description has been contested by local and state officials, who have blamed the federal government for the tension, saying aggressive tactics that violate police protocol had stirred unrest. Demonstrators have taken to the streets nationwide to protest the killing of Ms. Good, a U.S. citizen. The administration has responded by sending 1,000 additional agents to Minnesota.

In a video analysis, The Times focuses on some of the key contested moments of the agent’s cellphone video alongside other footage. More videos are likely to emerge, but the visual evidence shows no indication that the agent who fired the shots, Jonathan Ross, had been run over. The footage provides visibility into the positioning between the agent and Ms. Good’s S.U.V., and the key moments of escalation. It also establishes — millisecond by millisecond — how Mr. Ross put himself in a dangerous position near her vehicle in the first place.

Dude, did you go to the article and look at the two videos linked in it? That was the idea. That picture is the frame where she started to gun the car while looking right at the officer, the officer saw that look, and drew his weapon.

Sure I saw your videos, both of which are inconclusive. You are claiming that the shooter interpreted the look on her face to be malicious and as a result drew his weapon. Which is possible but also theoretical and unprovable. There are other videos that show her face smiling and saying she wasn't mad at the agent who was trying to get her out of the car to arrest her, which kinda flies in the face of any malicious intent. But then she hits the gas and the next 2 seconds go by really fast. Not much time there to think about what you're doing on anybody's part. She comes into contact with the shooter agent and he opens fire.

Nope. That is not how it works, since the Supreme Court ruling of 9 to 0 on Barnes vs Felix in May of 2025.

The totality of the incident MUST BE taken in to consideration for its reasonableness, of the actions....including whether the cop followed guidelines and regs on him placing himself in danger by his own actions, whether the car driver had committed a felony or violent felony and that is why they stopped her or just a driving infraction etc etc etc....

I see it. I think it's hard to justify the shooting, particularly the last 2 shots. You're not supposed to shoot a fleeing suspect unless you are in imminent danger and it doesn't look like the shooter was. First shot, maybe. OTOH, it happened so fast and the car was coming towards him, but I think he shoulda just got outta the way.

The spinning wheel is such a ******* LIE. He is only showing it in slow motion and the wheel doesnt rotate more than 1/16th of the way around. That car took off between 3 and 6 MPH without enough force to hurt anyone as evident by his physical activity afterwards. In fact he side stepped it and shot her through the side window twice while he was yards away from in front of the car. It was straight murder by a ******* coward who called her a ***** after shooting her from behind in the back of the head through the side window. I cant wait for the autopsy to go public.

The WSJ is a respected news source, but it has a paywall to read the article so I missed that. And I do not give much credence to YouTube videos that anybody can put out with some editing to shape their narrative. Which is not to say there's no truth to it, which these days is hard to pin down. Just like with other LE situations, it ain't easy sometimes to do the job and there are going to be mistakes by the agent that end up being fatal. I suspect in many cases the victims made the situation worse and basically forced the agent into a difficult situation. Like Renee Good not getting out of the car and the shooting agent not getting out of the way instead of opening fire. Errors in judgement that lead to a fatal shooting.

This thread is less about the Minnesota shooting and more about how America has split into two different realities.

President Trump, Vice President Vance, Secretary Noem and most MAGAs on this site are saying the ICE agent was "hit" or "run over".

This is easily the clearest view of the positioning of the vehicle and the shooter. At :09, she puts the vehicle in drive, you can see the tires turning to the right, and the shooting begins.

Please view this video and describe how the agent is "hit". Or, please tell me if you think Trump, Vance, Noem and MAGA are lying.
