Pentagon sending assault ship, at least 2,500 Marines toward Iran as US works to reopen Strait of Hormuz while oil prices spike

The next regime would inherit an entire country on the move looking for water.
Not a very stable start.
In times of such crisis, the people will accept the dictator who will save them.

Just consult world history for the last century.

The next government will have future oil sales as leverage to get funding to repair and upgrade their infrastructure from the countries that would benefit from a more secure source of oil like a Representative Iran.

We dont want to destroy the oil refineries on Kharg Island

But we do want to deny the mullahs money from oil sales

You destroy the loading and unloading facilities, which are easier to repair after the fighting is over.

This can be a good play if we can take the island without harming the oil infrastructure.

We have to be ready to play off the Chinese, though. 90 percent of its oil comes from Iran.

Sounds like Kharg Island is in play. Here we go!🥺

Pentagon sending assault ship, at least 2,500 Marines toward Iran as US works to reopen Strait of Hormuz while oil prices spike

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon is deploying the USS Tripoli and thousands of military service members to the Middle East after President Trump vowed Friday to unleash “unparalleled firepower” on the “deranged scumbags” leading Iran.

The deployment of the amphibious assault ship comes as the American military admits it’s currently unable to break Iranian influence over the vital Strait of Hormuz as global oil prices spike.

Not a chance of success .
Key facts :-
If you take Kharg then all export harbours in the Gulf region will come under sustained Iranian missile attacks. The ten days of war so far have already shown that Iran can do that.
Today the Al Ruwais refinery in the UAE, the largest one in the Gulf with a capacity of 900,000 bpd, was shut down after being attacked by Iranian drones.

If Kharg is taken and occupied by U.S. soldiers, oil export harbors – Al Başrah in Iraq, Mina Al Ahmadi in Kuwait, Fujairah in the UAE, Ras Laffan and Mesaieed in Qatar and Ras Tanura in Saudi Arabia – will all come under sustained fire and be closed.

So no. Taking Kharg is not a viable option.

Militarily it would be complicated , cause severe losses and turn out to be unsustainable. Economically it would be catastrophic because Iran, once blocked from exporting its products, can and will stop other Gulf countries from doing so too.
You said something that not only made sense, but that I agree with completely.

I'm flabbergasted.

I gotta go lay down or something... Feel weird....

It's been more than 50 years that I always question the claims of known liars. You don't?

BTW, "the terrorists" control the governments in Tel Aviv and Washington DC
We are on opposit sides of these issues

But is great for TACO making headlines and selling himself to his MAGA groupies as being a warrior king - just bombing will do, there is no need to send troops.
Someone has to change the diapers of those who survive the bombing.

I hope that the Zionists do not load these poor slaves onto their Carriers .
They seem to be moving in the opposite direction as fast as possible and the Gerald R Ford is crippled — they only admit to the toilet system having failed .
Pity they have no outfit that has any experience of winning .
Perhaps the Zionists are hoping that the Freedom Fighters will be over confident .
