The Article: Pentagon Begins ‘Continuous Vetting’ of All Troops for Insider Threats, Extremism; Social Media May Come Next
From the Article:
"All Defense Department personnel are now subject to “continuous vetting” designed to spot extremists and other insider threats, with surveillance of their public social-media postings likely coming soon, Pentagon officials said Tuesday.
The announcement follows years of effort to comply with a 2011 executive order to improve on the current security-clearance process, which features an initial investigation but generally no followup for five or more years. The new system will raise flags when new information arrives, such as when a DOD employee is arrested."
Comment(s):
I joined the US Army in 1988 through the Delayed Entry Program. Back then computerized records were a gleam in the eye of some Pentagon power player and the infant internet was still suckling at the teat of globalist scrooges yet to come. For the average soldier this level of vetting is either overkill at best or politically motivated—similar to military recruitment tactics of the old and dead USSR—at worst. For certain sensitive level security clearances it seems legit. You pays your monies you takes your chances . . . and don't post stupid shit under your own name on social media, if you hope to wear the uniform.
