Well, if the Democrats lose enough seats to lose the majority, that is true.
But of note: Nancy Pelosi was the Minority Whip for the 114th and 115th Congress, and by all accounts was very very effective in that role. So much so that she was promptly elected Speaker when the Dems gained the majority.

In short, poster 'struth', Nancy Pelosi is a quite formidable legislator.
