Paul Ryan Mocks Senior Citizen Handcuffed At His Town Hall

Love the Rand Paul reference, Lakhota. You do realize that the woman in that conflict wasn't some local attending a local town meeting. No, she was a MoveOn.org member who had traveled all the way to Lexington, Kentucky from Washington DC with the sole attention of getting press attention by creating a disturbance.

As for the others? Gee, "Think Progress" labeled what conservatives were yelling at town meetings as "incomprehensible"? What a surprise THAT is! And you backed it up with something from "Media Matters"? That's the clincher right there! We all know that Media Matters is as unbiased a site as they come...right? (eye-roll)

Is there something in the water in Wisconsin? Does cheese go to your head? Look at the difference between democrats facing serious questions from polite Tea Party members and the rabble in Wisconsin that disrupts meetings. The observation is that radical domocrats don't know how to behave themselves and that left wing bloggers are hungry for an issue, any issue.

Here's what I find especially comical about you righties: Sources like Think Progress and Media Matters almost always provide source links to substantiate their articles. I never hear you clowns saying anything about those supporting source links. Hence, you have no credibility. BTW, you all don't know shit.

Paul Ryan Mocks Senior Citizen Handcuffed At His Town Hall: ‘I Hope He’s Taking His Blood Pressure Medication’

By Marie Diamond

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI), the author of the House GOP plan to phase out Medicare, does not like it when constituents publicly challenge him. In fact, people who disagree with Ryan have a habit of getting arrested for it. A few weeks ago, several of Ryan’s unemployed constituents staged a peaceful sit-in at his Kenosha, Wisconsin office to protest his unpopular decision not to hold any free public town halls during the August recess. These constituents didn’t think they should have to pay to ask their elected representative a question. Instead of meeting with them, Ryan’s staff called the police.

You seem to not having a problem mocking old people from the tea party

Ryan, on the other hand, is getting shouted down by liberals simply because he has had the courage to propose reforms to entitlement programs that EVERYONE should know have to be fixed or they will overwhelm our ability to pay for them in about a decade.

Some folks aren't taking kindly to the House passing legislation to end Medicare? How unpredictable.

At least he's got most of the public on his side:

By a margin of 57 percent to 34 percent, poll respondents say they would be worse off if Ryan’s plan to convert Medicare to a system of subsidized private health coverage were adopted. Fifty-eight percent of independents, a critical voting bloc in recent elections, say they would be worse off.

Whoops. There goes the appeal to poll-driven policy. Why are Republicans ignoring the voters?!

So, let me see if I have this straight: Right-wing sources are credible; Left-wing sources are not credible. Okay, I got it now...

Which means to CON$titutional CON$ervatives that she has no CON$titutional Rights. :cuckoo:
Kick her while she's down!!

And if they provide source links I always check them out because between you and I? It's amazing how often those sites distort the living hell out of the subject matter. Take the video of the man being "brutalized" at the Paul Ryan event. Funny how you don't actually SEE that happening. All of the liberal media outlets like Think Progress and Media Matters ran with the same central message...really old man questioning Ryan brutalized by the police and then mocked by Ryan. What gets left out is that the protest was planned to disrupt Ryan's speech by having one liberal protestor after another get up and yell at Ryan so he couldn't be heard.

I love it when instead of rebutting points people resort to calling others "clowns" and accuse them of not knowing "shit". If you want to PROVE that I don't know shit then do it using a constructive argument. You provided the woman at the Rand Paul rally as an example of violence against liberal town meeting attendees. I responded by pointing out that she wasn't even FROM the area where the town meeting was being held but was in fact a member of MoveOn.org who had traveled from out of State to be there with the sole intention of confronting Rand Paul in a way that would garner TV coverage.

You didn't want to address THAT...did you? So instead you responded with a broadside of insults. I'm OK with that though, Lakhota. I know when I'm getting that response it's because I've already won the argument.

Constitutional rights? What constitutional right of hers was violated? She tried to physically confront Rand Paul to cause a scene and got stopped by his supporters. She got what she wanted. A good little MoveOn.org member, she went to Kentucky from Washington DC with the intent of embarrassing Paul and succeeded in doing so. It's the same exact technique the protesters were using in Wisconsin. Cause a scene...get the police involved...then cry to the media that your "rights" have been impinged on.

Oh, well in that case, she deserved to get her head stomped. Gotta love these Republicans and their "values and morals".

So, whose head did she stomp?

I would be willing to bet a months pay that if you held a gun to the people's heads that were in that poll and told them they had to tell you the specifics of Ryan's plan or you were going to blow their brains out, that almost ALL of them would throw up their hands and say "Shoot me then because I don't have the faintest idea."

When people are given the choice of keeping Medicare the way it is now or changing it to something where they don't get the same benefits or have to pay more they quite naturally say they'd like Medicare to remain unchanged. If you explain to them that if Medicare is left unchanged the whole system will be fiscally insolvent in about 15 years and NOTHING will be there for them...THEN and ONLY THEN do people's attitudes change. The problem we have now is that liberals in this country are lying to the public telling them that we can not only keep Medicare just as it is but ADD all kinds of new people to the system and it can all be paid for if we raise taxes on the rich. It's horseshit. You could tax the wealthy at a 100% rate and it still wouldn't come CLOSE to making Medicare solvent.

Can anyone evaluate this for what it is? You have a speaker giving a speech and a guy barges in yelling. Security (probably police hired by the event) try to get him to stop yelling and screaming. When he resists that they try to escort him out. At some point they determine that he is not welcome at the event likely because of his behavior. Can you imagine going to an event like that and having everyone behave in such a manner? He is arrested (once he is being arrested if he resists and gets thrown to the ground that is because he is not complying).

Take the names/parties out of the scenario and the right thing happened. Why is this such a problem?

Mike

You seem to be leaving out the two old ladies that paid to ask questions and were also removed when Ryan didn't like the questions.

What are you guys defending? I thought Republicans were all about "free speech". They sure scream it enough when their lies are pointed out.

So let me see if I understand how this works...it's OK for liberals to stand up one after another and shout down Paul Ryan as he tries to speak...but if a conservative shouts out "Liar" when Barack Obama is speaking then it's a travesty? That would be your concept of how free speech works?

You don't know if it was liberals shouting down Paul Ryan. If they were old, they are probably Republicans who are afraid Paul Ryan wants to leave them destitute. Which he does.

She went there with the intent of having a confrontation with Rand Paul. I guarantee you the guy stepping on her made her so happy so was close to peeing herself. She was doing Keith Olbermann the next night. It was EXACTLY what she was looking for when she went to Kentucky from Washington DC. And if you think she WASN'T there trying to do that? Kindly explain to me why she was wearing a blonde wig as a disguise in order to get close enough to Rand Paul's window to thrust her sign in at him? The fact of the matter is...she's a professional activist who was known to the Paul security people because she'd been stalking him for several days, hence the blonde wig.

You mean she tried to hand a check to the bought and paid for Paul and was mugged by his paid thugs. It was Paul's goons who "caused a scene."
