Zone1 Pastor: They’re Not Deceived – Trump Evangelicals Are CHOOSING the Lies

Yes indeed, the namby-pamby Jesus of your denominations sounds just like the um, man in this video. His "Jesus" said All the Nice Words but none of the ones about Hell, or the Lake of Fire, or the leaders of the day, or the woman at the well, or the woman He called a dog.

Just quietly walking around lisping about other people's "hate" in the most self-satisfied manner imaginable.

I give you the men of mainline Christianity these days, which is why all those denominations are dying.....

What is Jesus' command? Jesus says this in the Gospels (see Gospel of Matthew 22:37–40 and Gospel of Mark 12:29–31).
He calls these the two greatest commandments and says: “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength… and love your neighbor as yourself.”

In another moment, Jesus simplifies it even further:
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
(The “Golden Rule” – Gospel of Matthew 7:12)

And in Gospel of John 13:34, he says:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Nowhere does he preach MAGA "America First" and kick all the brown people out.

Yes, we know. Trump says words you don't like.

Hitler drove trucks of children into the fire alive, shot nursing mothers and babies at the side of trenches to be buried in a mass grave, and did horrid and unimaginable experiments on Jewish twins for "research".

I mean, the parallels are obvious, and WE have the problem, not you.

Hitler didn't start out doing that.

He started out doing what Trump is doing now, sending people to camps, ignoring civil rights. and attempting mass deportations.

Only when the war made deportations impossible did he escalate to mass exterminations.

Not brown people. Illegal aliens who broke in here illegally. Since you don't condone us deporting them, and you follow Jesus commands, how many have you personally taken in? You clearly have the money; you brag about it all the time.

THAT is what Jesus would do: believe something and then LIVE UP to that belief, rather than just putting self-righteous lip service.

So I'll wait for you to tell me how many you have taken in

I do fine but I am not Jesus. l support 3 kids, 2 in Africa and 1 in South America. You can too for the cost of a cup of coffee a day.

I also support a working mission in El Salvador and missionary family who moved down there. Been on several mission trips and give a lot to church but I could always do a lot more. I mean, I just bought a kick ass gaming system and the most rad 45" curved desktop monitor you've ever seen.

Yes, but your brand of "Christianity" is works-focus, as you have made clear. If you support Donald Trump, in your opinion, you are highly suspicious of being a "wrong Christian" because you don't Live Like Christ.

You have works-based religion, pal.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Why should we take any in? Most of them are perfectly willing to work for their room and board. If we gave them work permits, they'd be completely self-sufficient.

Sounds to me like he's a far better Christian than you are.

Well OP, where else are they gonna go?

Trump might not be like them (granted) but he does not go out of his way to hate on them like the left does.

A summary of the video.

The retired pastor introduces his message by acknowledging that some of his comments may sound harsh, but he insists he is speaking as someone who struggles with the same moral flaws he critiques. He focuses on why many American evangelicals support Donald Trump despite actions he believes contradict Christian teachings.

Drawing on Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s writings from prison (a German Lutheran pastor, theologian, and anti-Nazi dissident)—especially the idea that “stupidity” (or willful ignorance) is a moral, not intellectual, defect—he argues that the problem isn’t that Trump supporters are unintelligent. Rather, he believes many are choosing to ignore evidence because it conflicts with their desires. He says corrupt leaders succeed because they tell people what they want to hear, appealing to motives like tribalism, cultural dominance, or resentment.

He compares this dynamic to German Christians who supported Hitler, suggesting a similar moral failure may be happening today. However, he emphasizes that persuasion rarely comes through argument. Instead, people change through loving relationships and humility. He concludes that while he is angry about current events, the deeper issue is moral struggle within all of us, and real change requires humility, self-examination, and redemption—not just debate.
The ironic thing is that, even as a comfy agnostic, I know I live my life closer to the teachings of Jesus than they do.

These are CINOs. They could not have been that serious in the first place.

Saying you believe in God and Jesus' mission then practicing Satan's way wont work for you dear. It is written:

In Gospel of Matthew 7:16–20, Jesus says: “By their fruit you will recognize them… Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.”

In Epistle of James 2:17, 26: “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead… As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”

In Epistle to the Galatians 5:22–23, Paul describes the “fruit of the Spirit”: "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."

Again, the metaphor is fruit — what grows naturally from a transformed heart.

One of the most disturbing and difficult-to-understand things about this whole period -- perhaps THE most disturbing and difficult-to-understand thing -- for many of us across the political spectrum, Left to Right, is the way evangelicals have supported this vulgar, dishonest, divisive, cruel, awful man. How can they do this, how can they justify this? The Christians in my family who are horrified by what they're seeing are still wrestling with this question.

This is a retired pastor who, in his characteristically calm and civil way, tries to help us understand what is happening here. He doesn't think these people are "stupid". He has a very interesting take, and for those who are interested in this important question, you might find it to be an interesting use of 20 minutes.

He cant see his own stupidity. Everything is better under Trump after 4 years of a Biden disaster. We had 4 years of leadership by a severely impaired president with advanced dementia and the democrats lied in our faces when it was there in plain sight. Thats as stupid as it gets.

Better except for GDP, Employment, Prices, Consumer Confidence, the Deficit... for starters. More people were happier under dementia Biden than dumbass Trump.

I'm not sure how you can say that.

We have riots in the streets.
We have high inflation
We have unemployment going up
We have limp job growth

Oh, GDP growth dropped in the fourth quarter.

Prices dropped under Trump crime drug deaths and murder is down. Gas under 3 dollars. The middle class git the biggest tax cut in history. No one was happy under Biden

I know his words really, really, really, REALLY hurt your feelings.
Leaving all politics aside....You as a Christian, his words and actions should be rattling you inside, because as is, it is you and other Christians, and Christianity on the whole, that he is really hurting imo Sue. Please stop being so proud and stubborn....open your eyes, heart, and soul....doing so, does not mean you support liberals or will politically align with liberals....release that stumbling block that is intertwined deep in you....imo.

please don't be angry with me....I'm not saying this out of hate for you or with some political posturing angle, or a holier than thou attitude, but truly out of love, and the good I see in you....

No need to respond, just think about it....

Um, people are unhappier under Mango Mussolini.

And the economy hasn't even gone into the dumpster, yet.
The economy is thriving in spite of another democrat government shut down

15th post
Prices dropped under Trump
Prices havent dropped. The went UP 0.2% slower at 2.8% than the 3.0% he was handed... that is still up and virtually unchanged.
crime drug deaths and murder is down.
Crime was at record lows under Biden and the big drug death improvement that spiked under Trump dropped under Biden.. this last year was a lower decrease than Biden oversaw.
Gas under 3 dollars.
Gas is $3.05 nationally, not under $3 AND is only 1.87% lower than last year.
The middle class git the biggest tax cut in history.
Nope - only an extension of existing taxes... virtually no one will see less taxes being paid - oh, and Reagan's were bigger.
No one was happy under Biden
Less people are happy now.

You got everything wrong. I hope you are not getting paid for this. Soros would not pay me for posts that lousy.

All the self-righteousness of religious nuts with none of the actual religion.

Congrats, I guess
