1.That's a matter of opinion whether gay lifestyle is biological or a decision.

2. Nobody should be pushing their own agenda on school kids period. Kids are in school to learn academic's. Sexuality and lifestyle, like religion, should be taught at home. It's no more acceptable for the teacher to push their beliefs on the children any more than it would be for a group of Jehovah witnesses to push their agenda in class. I agree with the school being a cultural sewer. We are trying to teach to much crap that is a matter of opinion and not concentrating on academic's and competing in the world market. A generic politeness to all should be taught because that will promote what is expected in a work environment, but we don't have to get specific. When you are at work you don't have to like a person,religion or a lifestyle, you just need to be polite and respectful and get the job done. That's what should be taught along with all the basic things like reading,arithmetic,history and the sciences. Gay,straight,atheist,religion and all the other shit that gets taught should be left up to the family to teach, not the school. Our kids education sucks as it is that we can't afford to pull them away from necessary learning to promote group agenda's.

If the parents had done their job, the kids would not have been teasing and taunting the effeminate boy and the teacher would probably not have read the book.

It should be parents job to socialize their kids so elementary schools would not have to spend half their time dealing with fighting, bullying, disruptions in class, inattentive students, disciple problems, and tardiness. Teaching morality, sex education, manners, and respect for others should not be the job of teachers. Schools doing a better job, begins with parents doing better job.
