Panama.

companies that ship through the canal? roughly 40 percent of all US container traffic goes through there
But not US shippers. So the idea is to get Americans killed over a price increase to foreign shippers because they redredged the canal, even though US manufacturers can ship from the West or East Coast.

Have fun selling that to the American people.

I started reading your post but stopped because nothing you say matters.

You feel like you can say anything you want and everyone else just has to believe it because you said so.
The evidence shows what I say and predict comes correct... look at how I nailed the election back in September.... I'm rarely wrong about politics and current events... you are always wrong... I'm the one who said years ago Trump would not nor ever go to prison and he will win re election...
Facts are facts and truth is truth neither of them lie....
Go ahead do a search of my posts... if you find one time where I was proven wrong let me know....

you mean the boat owners?

you are suggesting that no US shipping company uses the Panama Canal? So all those US companies, don't use US shipping companies? Really? Which country of orginal do you think the ships are from? and regardless, even if it's Chinese shipping companies, don't you think the price to use the canal impacts US goods?

So you don't think companies like CH Robsinson use the panal canal? or the American President's Line? or Matson?

Even if you invaded the ports are still there yes?
yes, but the treaty signed by Carter and Panana...https://2001-2009.state.gov/p/wha/rlnks/11936.htm

You’re not all the in touch with reality.

That expired in 1999.

Nope, what it did was say that we have to be out by 2000....but the treaty is still in effect today

Ratification, Entry Into Force, and Termination

1. The Treaty shall be subject to ratification in accordance with the constitutional procedures of the two Parties. The instruments of ratification of this Treaty shall be exchanged at Panama at the same time as the instruments of ratification of the Treaty Concerning the Permanent Neutrality and Operation of the Panama Canal, signed this date, are exchanged. This Treaty shall enter into force, simultaneously with the Treaty Concerning the Permanent Neutrality and Operation of the Panama Canal, six calendar months from the date of the exchange of the instruments of ratification.

2. This Treaty shall terminate at noon, Panama time, December 31, 1999.

or else what?
Panama charges us what they charge everyone else. There’s no special treatment.

That’s literally what the neutrality treaty requires.

You weirdos need to chill out.

15th post
How is Panama violating the treaty?
Panama violated the original Hay–Bunau-Varilla Treaty that stipulated that the U.S. would have control of and maintain a ten mile wide zone that encompassed the canal in perpetuity and would pay Panama an annual rental fee of $250,00.

Gen. Omar Torrijos violated the agreement by threatening to blow it up if we didn’t hand it over.

I don’t mention this because I think we should get it back. I just think that everyone mentioning the later treaty and the ethics of going against it need to know that Panama broke the original treaty in the first place.

Having said that, I don’t believe any attempt to wrest it back from Panama will be successful and any attempt to do so should not be made if it involves any kind of military action. It should be a fair transfer for all parties where all parties agree on the terms.

If no agreement can be reached regarding control of the canal and the erstwhile Canal Zone, the matter should be dropped.

Dem Rep. Auchincloss: No Evidence China’s a Security Threat in Panama Canal, We Risk Damage to Our Reputation

28 Dec 2024 ~~ By Ian Hanchett

On Friday’s “CNN News Central,” Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) said that there isn’t any evidence that China exercises control over the Panama Canal in a way that endangers American security, but there is a risk of a hit to America’s reputation if it looks like it’s bullying Panama.

Commentary:
“Supporting Ukraine to unconditional victory” to stop Russia from controlling some country side halfway around the world is important to US security yet this idiot has no problem with the Communist Chinese controlling the Panama Canal…Democrats must never be in charge of anything…
The "reputation" we have after four blundering years of incompetence from giving control of our country to a drooling vegetable and his kakcling-imbecile sidekick who bent of for every enemy of the American People, could do with some damage.
Wait till there's a security need involving China in the Pacific, and they deny American warships use of the shortcut and we have to sail all the way around the Cape of Good Hope. The most violent seas, where Atlantic and Pacific oceans collide at the very tip of South America. Maybe this Massachusetts moron will get a clue then. Why are the most stupid ones always from the New England states?
As it is, our Carriers cannot use the Canal they are too large.

Intelligent Americans do not ask Democrats about how to conduct 'reputation'.
Neo-Marxist Democrats have run America through the dirt for generations... and now want to keep preaching.
Meanwhile: the Panama Canal is NOT about mere 'Reputation', it is about preserving America's strategic and economic position. All other considerations are nothing compared to that.
