A girl arrived in class last month, originally from Liberia. Most of her classes are predominantly populated with Latinos. Since she obviously doesn't speak Spanish she seemed very isolated. At first, she was very quiet and reticent. Fortunately, she is in a class with a few students from other parts of the world who also don't speak Spanish. The students in her class are great. They welcomed her right away, and really tried to include her in our projects. Today, she was flitting from group to group, really active and vocal and outgoing. It's nice to see a young person finding their place.
