Clearly, we know nothing about these people and their capabilities.

I think we have been this smart before and did our selves in. Maybe several times.
It seems as though catastrophy wiped away previous knowledge and ancient civilizations.

As mankind approaches a similar level of sophistication as the ancients were at one time, will the same then happen to us?

Most likely. Doesn't look like we handle so much tech so well. We have a tendency to kill each other and today tech is really efficient at such things. The TV could have been the best educational tool invented but how did that turn out. Same with the computer. How did that turn out? The Amish may understand something we don't.

The flood was suppose to wipe out our knowledge and corruption....I believe?

The whole Atlantis myth of being knowledgeable at one time is out there too....

So, it is likely our knowledge was wiped with major tragedies or these myths would not have prospered over the Millennium imo.

There are a couple of discontinuities in the development AND decline of human intelligence over the past 10 thousand years that we can't explain. Here is one example. The man is standing in front of a 125 ton boulder perfectly fitted between several other multi-ton boulders.

Maybe. The possibility exits that it could happen, or not! Time will tell....

And did you notice how the incomplete megalithic construction remain in situ all over the world: Lebanon, Egypt, China, and the Americas?

Almost as if there was a global catastrophe as the civilization(s) was at the height of their power

Look at Pacific Palisades after 2 years, what would it look like in a 100, or thousand or 12,000 years

There are numerous examples of ancient buildings, walls and other structures that would be difficult/impossible to replicate even with our highest tech tools and equipment.

Yet they did so with impunity and demonstrated a knowledge of astronomy, physics and sonic resonances we're only beginning to understand
