Only the most uninformed Americans feel undocumented workers are not of value to USA citizens. Sure, there are bad actors that are undocumented but only the most stupid among us, paint them all with the same brush.

Undocumented workers pay a lot in taxes, even though most can’t receive major federal benefits like Social Security retirement or Medicare:
In 2022, undocumented immigrants paid nearly $97 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.
  • They also contribute billions annually to Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes — but because they lack legal status, they generally cannot collect benefits.
  • In specific states like Washington, undocumented immigrants were responsible for around $3 billion in taxes, supporting public services like schools, roads, and emergency services.

What this means: U.S. citizens benefit from these tax revenues because they help fund public infrastructure, education, health programs, and local services that everyone uses.

Undocumented immigrants make up a significant share of the workforce in key sectors:
They represent a large part of labor in agriculture, maintenance, construction, food preparation, and other industries — jobs that many U.S. citizens are less likely to fill.
It keeps prices lower for consumers on food and services.
  • It keeps industries running (especially agriculture and hospitality) that would otherwise face labor shortages.
Undocumented immigrants are also consumers who spend money on goods and services:
Their spending—on housing, transportation, food, utilities, etc.—supports U.S. businesses and jobs for citizens and other residents.
  • Research estimates they pay $79.7 billion in federal taxes and $41 billion in state and local taxes annually, and also contribute significantly to mortgage and rental markets through housing costs.

Economists have found that:
Providing legal status and a pathway to citizenship could boost U.S. GDP by hundreds of billions over a decade and create new jobs — which benefits workers of all statuses, including citizens.
  • Immigrants (including undocumented workers) contribute to labor force growth, which is crucial for an aging U.S. population and declining birth rates.

Studies with historical evidence also show that when undocumented workers gain legal status, their earnings rise — which boosts tax contributions and consumer spending further.

Research also shows social and community benefits associated with immigrant populations:
Policies that allow immigrants to integrate (e.g., driver's licenses) can improve public safety and civic participation.
  • Immigrant families contribute to community life, including schools, faith communities, and local organizations.

Here are the main ways undocumented immigrants have been shown to help U.S. citizens and communities:
They pay substantial taxes that fund public services used by citizens and residents.
✔️ They fill essential jobs in key sectors, supporting industries and keeping prices stable.
✔️ Their consumer spending fuels economic growth.
✔️ They contribute to long-term economic growth and labor force expansion.
✔️ Their integration into communities strengthens social life and local economies.

******* preposterous premise.

Being paid under the table or on 1099 and failing to file means that they don't pay diddly shit in FICA or income tax.
Read the documentation.

Only the stupidest Leftists think it's okay to open our borders to people who do not share our values, do not speak our language and have no interest in doing so.
It makes no ******* sense.
It weakens our national identity.
It has not strengthened America.
It has led to more gangs, more crime, more drugs, more of everything that's wrong with modern day America.
Joe Biden should have been charged with treason. And we all know what the punishment for treason is, don't we?

They cost way more.

Not to mention that it would be kind of hard for an "undocumented" person to be paying anything that requires documents.
I mean they might be paying sales tax on whatever they buy, but that's about it.

Just another example of the media using "Legal Fiction", to muddy the lines in regard to those that have been granted an "Executive Parole" and allowed to enter the country, without altering their status, while they still neither qualify as Refugees nor Asylum Seekers. Then they count them as "undocumented immigrants" when that is a complete fiction.

No one gives a shit.

Don’t care about “the good ones” that pay taxes.

Jobs should go to Americans. Only when all Americans have jobs should we consider some temporary foreigners with no pathway to citizenship to do some jobs.

Not to mention the billions of dollars they send out of the country that citizens would be spending right here, further enhancing local economies.

No matter how they are paid, or how they pay or don't pay taxes, they are not citizens and should be in some kind of documented approved legal status to stay, work and play, or they need to be removed, at least to come back and go through the process legally. Those picked up going to their immigration court dates, is just an Trump travesty of justice, and of course, normal people do not approve of the masked, storm troop shock troop approach. But, those who were never subject to the system, overstayed the system while not involved in active immigration courts hearings, ie living the underground economy, simply do need to leave, and definitely any of the criminal assholes that came here to victimize Americans or other aliens.

Not to mention the billions of dollars they send out of the country that citizens would be spending right here, further enhancing local economies.
And not a peep about the upward price pressure they put on housing supply and services like emergency rooms.

As I just said; the OP is a tremendously stupid and gullible individual.

The people picked up in courthouses, immigration hearings, and other places are all deportable. It is also significantly safer for everyone. Even liberal loons wouldn't allow ICE Watch assholes to blow whistles in a courtroom.

So why can't it be done legally?

You have an uncanny way of posting a really fine post, and having something in it to ruin it.

Let me get this straight, the illegals of the criminal underground economy are deplorable, and the people going about it, the correct legal way through the immigration hearings, and reporting, in the immigration courts are also deplorable?

I got to ask, if from a foreign country, who isn't deplorable, to you?

I don't know if they are deplorable, but most certainly they are deportable. 😉

Many of them have overstayed visas, lost asylum claims, or otherwise lost their once legal status through things like expedited removal.

Trying to do things the right way after years or even decades does not absolve them of their crime.
