"Only Criminals Carry Guns On Our Streets"--Donald Trump

So you're a gun nut now?

Um, hello? You obviously don't know me. I've always been strongly pro 2A. That's not being a "gun nut," that's valuing and wanting to protect our God-given natural rights.

PS: It appears that despite something you should already know by now, you're assuming that because I don't like Trump, that I'm on the other "side." There are no words to express how sick and tired I am of that type of retarded binary thinking.

Ashil Babbitt was murdered by government, and you loved this.
I did not. I thought it was sad that she fell for that Trump/QAnon garbage. It cost her her life

Yeah, I saw that the day he said that. And the other clips as well. I was asking you where he specifically said "only criminals carry guns" which is what I thought you were referring to when you said "Trump did make that statement though." Anyway, as others have said, what he has already said about guns, and his track record, is bad enough.
Okay as far as I can determine Trump did not specify "only criminals carry guns", that is an inference.

Whether it's a valid inference or not, I'm not sure.

I read that he came with his 9mm pistol fully loaded. Also, he had 2 magazines for his pistol that carried 20 per. So, he had 40 rounds in magazines and 17 in the pistol for a total of 57 rounds.

The pistol and magazines were a magnet to the cops. They saw a very dangerous armed man. They shot him many times. This shows how fearful they were.

15 to 17 rounds
A loaded 9mm Sig Sauer typically holds between 15 to 17 rounds in standard magazines, depending on the model. For example, the P320-M17 comes with a 17-round magazine and can also use 21-round magazines. Some compact models may hold as few as 6 or 7 rounds, while extended magazines can increase capacity to 20 rounds or more.
I understand what you're saying but law enforcement officers are supposed to be professionals. I do understand that their job is dangerous and fraught with perils, but they are still expected to behave in a professional manner and not panic and kill people because they misinterpreted the situation.

Everyone makes mistake simply by virtue of being human, but when most of us screw up, people don't die, at least not immediately as a result of our mistakes. It is not unreasonable to want, expect and demand that they do better in their dealings with the public, including taking care to not infringe upon the rights of U.S. citizens as well as the rights of the aliens they have purview over, even though they are in violation of our immigration laws. That is not a reason or excuse to treat them with brutality or any other inhumane act.

I mean the easiest way to gauge whether something should be done or not as opposed to whether it's lawful or not is to simply ask how you would feel if this were being done to you, one or more of your family members or loved ones. If the answer is that you would be outraged and want to fight, that's all you need to know for you to determine that what they're doing is not right, irrespective of whether it's lawful or not.

Hell slavery was lawful, that doesn't mean it was not a cruel, inhuman, and violent abuse of the rights of an entire race of people and had the things that were done to the slaves been perpetrated against a white woman or child, the response wouldn't have been and in fact was more often than not, to torch everything.

And just one last thing. People who carry and regularly shoot, often carry extra loaded magazines. If they're responsible gun owners and carriers, they also carry hollow-tip rounds which many prosecutors and others have used to try to convince a judge or jury that this meant that they were ensuring extra judicial menace and harm. The opposite is actually true. So please don’t buy into the hype that the number of rounds carried or the type of ammunition used indicates malicious or deadly intent. It doesn’t. For most avid shooters, both are completely normal.

I agree. Watch for the FBI to declare the cops were in the wrong and prosecute both of them. Maybe the rest as well.
BECAUSE they WERE IN THE WRONG! They shot Pretti IN THE BACK as he lay defenseless on the ground, facedown.

Deadly force is only
LAWFULLY ALLOWED when the shooter is facing an imminent (immediate) THREAT of grievous (severe) bodily harm or death.

A person attempting to flee or a victim that is under your control and face down on the ground no longer presents a threat (if they ever did) of
IMMEDIATE, SEVERE BODILY HARM OR DEATH. That's the exact reason why shooting someone in the back, with very few exceptions is considered straight up UNLAWFUL.

Babbitt was killed while attempting to reach the congressional members that she and the mob were pursuing.

We learned as early as grade school that threatening the President of the United States is a crime. The same applies to members of the presidential cabinet. Babbitt and the mob she was leading weren’t just content to issue verbal threats—they were actively attempting to reach members of Congress and the cabinet by force. They began breaking out a window in a locked door to gain entry into the Speaker’s Lobby, where the final barricade had been set up and where Lt. Byrd and other agents were defending the lawmakers.

Had she stayed on the other side of that locked door, she never would have been shot.

That's what I figured.

As always.
In legal terms, inference is defined as a deduction of fact that may logically and reasonably be drawn from another fact or group of facts established in a legal action (Evid. Code, § 600).

It refers to the process by which judges or juries reach conclusions based on the evidence presented, allowing them to draw logical deductions that are not explicitly stated in the evidence. Inferences are crucial in judicial proceedings, as they help establish connections between established facts and lead to reasonable conclusions. Plaintiff Magazine

So are you implying that the inference is incorrect? Because a person carrying a concealed weapon can only be carrying either lawfully or unlawfully. And if Trump is stating "you can't do that" then he obviously is not referring to whether or not it's something that's physically impossible to do, so what else could he mean other than "you can't do that" LEGALLY? Which is an incorrect statement.

A comment he shouldn't have made, however let's take it in the likely context he meant it.

He likely meant, that if you show up during these aggressive and outrageous street demonstrations with a gun, you're likely looking for criminal activity.
Right wing groups show up to protests all the time armed to the teeth

Are you including them?

You enjoyed it. Sen Kennedy says Democrats
learn to lie before they can talk. You are good at it.
Kennedy does not
