It seems a daily occurrence in the US that so many incidents that make the national headlines involve Police acting in a dumb and dangerous way. In the present climate, a white copper single-handedly trying to arrest a black man in front of his mates and at night seems crazy.
Feel sorry for the cop, but surely he can't have been following procedure, by not asking for back up before an arrest.

This seems to be a typical American narrative. The best way to change a governing body is to become part of it and change it from within.
If you don't like it, try running for congress, cos anarchy is never going to work, and I'm sure you'd regret it if it did.
Look at the human body. How complex it is. A number of different systems all acting in unison and in complete harmony.

If it's any man. A drug or alcohol affected person, of any race, might feel the need to go hand's on with a cop. Even a sober man might have friends in a crowd who will egg him or or feel they are protecting him by assaulting a cop.

A cop alone can't manage the scene, effect the arrest, and watch his own back. Going into a situation alone that you can't control is just dangerous.

If you're not stopping a murder, wait for backup.

The inevitable result will be...and mark my words whether we end up ruled by the left or the right.....an army of law enforcement agents who are the equivalent of super heavyweight MMA fighters and who no one would be wise to fuck with.....this is an eventuality that cannot be deterred. When the ACLU revoked the " Short Man " rule for cops back in the mid 60's it was one of the biggest mistakes that Law Enforcement has ever made. Now granted not every short guy is helpless....I Knew a cop that was 5 foot 7 but he was also 250 pounds of solid muscle...but by and large that is not the case. " Little Guys " or " Pillsbury Policemen" should absolutely not be allowed to patrol the streets anymore. Give me a six foot six Athlete who can Dead lift 500 minimum for at least five reps.

In fact, police who rely on physical presence and lack tactical communication skills are involved in more 'use of force' situations than those who can communicate.
