I think you meant "defund" the police.

I had this argument with my liberal sister once. She thought that if the husband kept spending money in the tavern that the wife had the right to take over leadership of the family. I opined that the wife should gather up the kids and join him at his favorite water hole. She didn't understand and was aghast at the idea.
