I've taken to say, "Israel does exist. Is there a right to destroy Israel?"

I'm attempting to get you to differentiate between the political independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of a STATE, as opposed to a government.

What would make it legal? a UN resolution to use force?

I can't think of anything that would make legal the deliberate destruction of an existing State using force and against their will according to current international law.

The government changed. The State remained the same. There is still a State of Germany. It still exists. Just with a different government. There is a difference between criticizing Israel's government, and even wanting a new one, AND demanding the destruction of an existing State.
