Only amateur journalists would attempt to magnify the mortality rate for a plague by using this emotional approach... What matter IS the mortality rate.. At the BEGINNING we were told that 3 to 5% of people contracting this disease would die.. They were wrong by OVER a factor of 20.. Today, with widespread testing we know it's more like 0.15%..

For a yearly flu WITH A VACCINE that didn't prevent death -- the rates are about 0.1%.. That's 1 out of 1000.. For this new rogue flu WITHOUT a vaccine, about the mortality rate is about 1/2 a person per THOUSAND more..

Lying with statistics is fairly easy and an art.. Medical errors are 3rd leading cause of death in the US.. About 250,000 people a year.. I'd say that was also on track to be about one death every 120 seconds.. But that's over ALL THE PEOPLE who have had medical interactions. Which is probably at least 65% of Americans. Which makes the mortality rate HUGELY LOWER..
