On Purchasing Greenland

Good news fhagit

The EU and NATO have officially decided to keep their mouths shut over Greenland
It's like we've been designated a Pakistani grooming gang

They may actually stick a pretty bow on it for us
Just like the Europeans do with their daughters

We will not take Greenland.

Over your head low IQ tool
The c-130s are busy ferrying illegal immigrants back to their country of origin .... Because Trump is felonious Hitler.
Try something other than MSNBC... Maybe take a walk down to Walgreens and get a booster
Not really. For Hitler it was the Jews, but for Trump it`s the Hispanics. His cult wouldn`t hesitate to send the Hispanics to the ovens. We know them too well.

When considering whether the United States might purchase Greenland from Denmark, first consider Denmark’s extremely tenuous claim on the world’s largest island in the first place.

Norse Vikings had a few tiny settlements on Greenland during the medieval warming period, beginning around 986 AD. These settlements vanished, that is, they died out completely with the colder weather that followed the temporary warming period. There were no Vikings left in Greenland by the middle of the 1400s. The only humans remaining on Greenland were the nomadic Greenlandic Inuit, who still live there.
In the 1600s, Norway-Denmark, then a single country, reasserted its sovereignty over Greenland based on the prior Norse settlements. In 1814, Norway and Denmark split apart, and Denmark continued to claim ownership of Greenland.

Copenhagen lost its tenuous control of Greenland when Denmark was occupied by the German Nazis in 1940. In 1941 the United States occupied Greenland to use it during World War 2. The USA built airfields to serve as refueling sites for trans-Atlantic flights, and as bases for anti-submarine warfare. (These airfields still serve as Greenland’s international airports.)

After the end of WW2 in 1945, for official purposes, Denmark again “took control” of Greenland. Meanwhile, the USA retained and expanded its military bases, later for Cold War purposes given Greenland’s strategic location. Over the decades America has continued to pump money into Greenland and build up its infrastructure.

It pretty much already is ours let's just take it why not.. maybe we can hock it and pay off some of the debt.. maybe build a hurricane victim a house... would that be racist

Tbh, Canada and Greenland should take over the US and sort it's mess out.

As Denmark told Trump, "Shut the fuck up," and as Panama said, "Trump, he ain't shit."

Unless the Danish government is willing to transfer sovereignty, it’s all utterly pointless and a waste of time

Regardless of who thinks what................

Greenland should hold an election of the people, to see if THEY want Greenland sold or not.

If not, then Trump needs to abide by that.
That’s not really how it works. Greenland is under Danish sovereignty

By your logic, Guam or Puerto Rico could vote to be “sold” to another country without any say from congress of the USA

The Danish don't have the rights to tell the people of Greenland what to do, if they want to be their own country or be up for sale.

By the way, the Danes are only owners of Greenland on paper. They have no real authority over anything the Greenland Parliments decide.

Turns out you are right this week. I apologize for behaving like Doc7505 or daveman or one of that ilk.

Does the Parliament of Greenland have the right to secede from Denmark and join the US?

Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, has the right to declare independence under a 2009 agreement with Denmark. However, this would require a successful referendum among Greenland's population. The island has its own parliament and government, but Denmark retains control over foreign affairs and defense1.

As for joining the United States, that would be a separate and complex matter. Greenland's Prime Minister has emphasized the island's sovereignty and identity, stating that Greenlanders are neither Danish nor American but Greenlandic. While there has been speculation and even polling about Greenland potentially joining the U.S., such a move would require not only Greenland's consent but also agreements with Denmark and the United States3.
