They want to paint Trump as a dictator and someone who will be tough on minority communities. Trump has to repeat that he supports peaceful, legitimate protest while he will protect civil liberties and rights of ALL people at the federal level. He has to talk about his justice reform with the First Step Act while talking about protecting statues and federal property. There is little benefit to him going off on issues that people will misconstrue.

They can NOT alter his message on China and dealing with them, it's clear he's the leader on this issue and has the worlds trust, not just America. Ditto for the economy, the wall he built to ensure Americas sovereignty and protecting vulnerable communities. They CAN misrepresent any "tough on crime" issue as him being another Neo-Con. The very politicians he beat in 2016. If he is viewed as a hard right, this is how it will be presented rather than him being able to play both sides with common sense leadership, not ideology.

He has to have a balanced message. He can easily work both sides of this campaign issue. It seems to me his opponents are so confident that Biden will win, that they are more open and comfortable going alt-left.

No he doesn't have to have a balanced message and 60 Death Penalties Joe isn't going to win any support on the hard left.

Biden is definitely going to win some support from the alt-left, Bernie himself is promoting him as being "the most progressive in presidential history". They've decided they can't win without the AOC crowd, so he decided it was easier to go that direction than to fight for the middle.

What Biden risks losing is moderates Dems and Independents. Trump has to make sure to get his share or he will be outplayed. This means not going further right, he simply doesn't need to. Biden has gone so far left that all Trump has to be is in the middle and keep his inroads into the black and hispanic communities. If he gains any % of these voters, Biden can't win. Trump can't work 3.5 years to make inroads successfully only to allow others to try and hurt him if he sends too strong a message.

Just look at the Mary Trump book. His niece is going to profit from writing a salacious book, she can only cash in due to those looking for dirt and trying to form a narrative. Trump has to remain sharp, focus on his libertarian approach, which I think is the U.S voter sweet spot. They voted for him in 2016 as they were yearning for this, he has to replicate this message after a term of success.

I think President Trump's best bet is to be himself who respects and supports the Military and the great service the local Police do, who just endorsed him for President after the beatings they took directly from the Democrats of New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, and other crime-riddled cities that are ruled by the Democrat Party that is trying to defund police and allow criminals to attack citizens by placing them on the streets with no holds barred.

Of course. He has to remind those who will only hear from the MSM that he will be a racist and demand constitutional abuses that he supports ALL citizens rights. When he has taken this approach, it's convincing and I think it ensures that the silent majority along with Independents have faith in him.

Biden is leaving a huge hole of moderate, traditional democrats, and Trump has to jump on it. So many black and hispanic voters will reject socialism while voting for a strong, patriotic America that takes on China while defending the U.S constitution.

Most people don't think about law and order except under the following circumstances ...

A. They are a victim of crime

B. They have committed a crime

C. They have been watching so much sensationalist news that they're all worked up about crime.

Bernie supported Hillary too but that didn't save her bacon from being whipped
