Wouls you be thrilled to tell your family you're going to work on Christmas Day?If this is what "winning" looks like, I'm thrilled to be on the "losing" team. Wow.
Some funny shit my man. Businesses close on Christmas because its financially beneficial to do so. They dont make enough money. It aint no culture battle genius. Enjoy the cheapseats cuz the view from there is obviously terrible.
^^ The never ending culture wars between the left and the right, show the right starting to win some battles. Recently it was Cracker Barrel who was FORCED to stop their "changeover", bring back the old white guy and his barrel, get out of the "woke" business, and just go back to making good food. Their CEO is hanging on by a thread, by the way.
This time, it's Olive Garden who decided that the almighty dollar isn't quite as important this year, and they will close all of their restaurants for Christmas, and give their employees the day off. Nice job, OG.
From the article: Walmart, Target, Costco, and Trader Joe's, have also adopted Christmas Day closures.
Small wins, but they add up.
No, they are not doing it for either of those reasons. They are doing it because they see there has been a backlash by conservatives. They saw what happened with Cracker Barrel. Obama/Biden/woke people are not in charge any longer. Trump won not only the electoral vote, but the popular vote as well. Conservatives are tired of this woke nonsense and are fighting back.Olive Garden is not closing out of respect for Christians.
They are doing it out of respect for their employees
Maybe those employees want to work Christmas Day and make holiday pay?

I would not bet on either one of those items.Maybe those employees want to work Christmas Day and make holiday pay?
Plus, I bet people tip real well when they eat out on Christmas Day
Betting against people wanting to make money is a losing betI would not bet on either one of those items.
Capitalists stay open for ChristmasNo, they are not doing it for either of those reasons. They are doing it because they see there has been a backlash by conservatives. I stay away from chain restaurantsAll my restaurant favorites are long gone. OG is somehow still hanging on. I ate there once in the 90s when my parents had a coupon.
Those are also disappearing.I prefer patronizing local joints
Not buying that at all. If christmas day was lucrative, you can bet that businesses would be open. Capitalism is only about profits. It ends there. No, they are not doing it for either of those reasons. They are doing it because they see there has been a backlash by conservatives. They saw what happened with Cracker Barrel. Especially at Olive Garden.Who wants to dine out on Christmas?

Capitalidm does NOT include morals. Its ONLY about making a buck. I support the right to open if one wants. Church is a choice, left for people to decide not what you think.Damn. Closing for Christmas, giving employees the actual full holiday off allowing more to observe the actual holiday!
If this insanity keeps up, next thing you know, everything will be closed on Sundays again just as they were when I was growing up, and people will actually have to plan their lives to get by for ONE FRICKING DAY without some store to run to for a screw, a loaf of bread, or to eat out because they failed to plan.
Hell, here's a crazy idea--- with nothing else open, they might even consider going to church?

As someone who often works on Christmas Day....no. But I don’t make the batshit-crazy calculation that some sort of political ideology wins or loses if they do.Wouls you be thrilled to tell your family you're going to work on Christmas Day?
