Olive Garden will close on Christmas. Score one for conservatives

Imagine some 30 year old single person who is working hard and saving. Lets say making pittance of $25 per hour. I know thats a meager wage but reality. Now they have a chance to making 2 days pittance in 1 day. Theyd jump at that chance.
That’s $50,000 a year. Two people team up to divide housing expenses, and that’s $100,000 a year,

And if that’s not enough, he should get a degree in engineering or another professional field and make $150,00 by mid-career.

When I’ve gone to Chinese restaurants on Christmas Eve, everyone stands up and says a brucha over the bread before eating!
I have no idea what that means, so I'll have to look it up. :D

We had everyone together for Thanksgiving at my daughter's house, but they will likely be working as my daughter is a paramedic, and my son-in-law is an EMT that works for a hospital. I was going to suggest to my wife that we eat out instead of having a big meal here at home.

Sure...

I love it when people put me on ignore....

A) They never actually do it.
B) I miss nothing because their "wisdom" is non-existent to start with
C) I get to point out that you're a liar without your rebuttal.
Projection Chublet

What it means is that 90% of the people going to Chinese restaurants on Xmas Eve are Jewish! It’s the thing to do.

It is for a high school grad with no marketable skills.
Yep. So young people should not ever think about marriage until well well after 30. You will agree a shrinking labor force is what is needed.

I.E, what the right wing is desperately trying to create more of.
Hardly. We want the bright kids to go to college and the average kids to get vocational certification. That way everyone can earn a living.

You Dems want to keep them poor, ignorant, and voting for more Dem handouts.

What is needed is for kids coming out of high school who are not college material to learn a trade. Many of them pay in the high 5- figures, or more.

Nothing wrong with a high school grade with a 6- or 12-month vocational training program - which can be paid for by Pell Grants - earning $80,000 or $90,000 a year.

Of course, it does require personal responsibility and motivation, not just demands for “mo money, boss man”!

I agree. But then you have those that say they should be getting married and having kids in their early 20s. So you must deal with them.

You are still under the impression $25 per hour is a good wage arent ya...funny
I was a government contractor for the US Army and made less than $19 an hour when I retired. I was the highest paid employee on the staff besides the director and assistant director. Our pay was set by contracts with the company based on the DOL for prevailing wages in our area. My wife worked for a cable company and made $23 an hour with 10 years' experience.

My daughter is a paramedic and never made $25 an hour until recently when she went to work for a major metro fire department. My son-in-law makes about that much as an EMT in his part-time job. My other daughter is temporarily working contract work at $21 per hour. My grandson gets $10 an hour for pulling wire for electricians while he is in school.

We got along great at that rate. The main difference was my home was not priced like a McMansion and I paid less than $1000 a month for my mortgage. My taxes were less than $1200 a year.

What kind of unskilled job with no advanced education makes $25 per hour?

Our gas stations here are paying $21 per hour as of today. No education required.

That’s their choice. But then they have to live a more modest life by doing that.

The people who are struggling financially had children in their late teens and early 20s, cutting off their educational opportunities. Again, their choice.

My “circle” all got married around age 30, having gone to college and then worked several years to get their careers off the ground. They had kids in their early to mid-30s, and everyone is doing very well.

You live in a high-cost area, don't you? The rest of us are not that stupid!

That is the employer's fault and they just pass that cost along to you for their gas and chips! What is your gas price right now? I'll bet it is over $3.00. Am I right?

I live where i want. Blue or red makes no difference. $25 per hour is a joke. Pittance. Laughable. Nothing to work hard for.

So, I was right! You should have just admitted you live in a blue city or state. Your denial to answer is proof positive that you are as full of shit as you can be. Dementia is a horrible disease. Seek help, Methusaleh.
