Oklahoma Passes Bill Banning ALL Abortions - No Rape Exceptions - 10 years in Prison for Performing one

The legislation bans all abortions except in the case of medical emergencies, and makes performing an abortion a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Women in Oklahoma must now keep their rape baby as an eternal reminder of what happened to them - the only exception is a medical emergency.

Thoughts?!
Could be worse...some states are rewarding rapists who impregnate their victims by allowing their family members to sue if she ends the pregnancy.

I do not know how these numbers can be determined. I know that there are 200-300 justifiable homicides per year in USA.

It happens every day but most of those stories are local, and only reported on a slow news day. But if you use the proper keywords, you'll find thousands of them because the bad guys will always be there.

"Could be worse - they could be living in Oklahoma"

Ignoring the fact that Americans use their firearms between 1 and 4 million times a year to stop a crime, assist victims in a crime, or self-defense. But let's go with the FBI statistics that we use our firearms about a million times a year. That's a million more crimes and deaths that would have been committed without an armed public.
Your conclusion, "without an armed public" is laughable. I do hope this comment isn't too abstract for some to not comprehend.

It's pretty simple really. Like the internet, like automobiles and trucks, like swimming pools, bad things do happen with guns, but when putting it on the scale, firearms do much more good than harm.

I don't see a lot of these white christians in the south stepping up to take care of all these "now born" black babies.

Did you bother to look any farther than your talking points?

There are charities and non-profits in every single state that offer assistance during the pregnancy and also afterwards. Hell, the welfare office in any city can provide you a pretty good list to get started with, because they rely heavily on those charities to pick up their slack. Not only that, pro-life organizations also offer assistance and support to women after they've had abortions, too.

That they allow no leeway in cases of rape is disgusting...

I'm pro-life but admit this is a heartbreaking situation. What centers me is that the child should not have to pay with his/her life for the sins of the father. However I do feel that this is absolutely a case where emergency contraception is called for (Plan B).

Explain how that are not...

Are you trying to say Gay people have a choice in being Gay?

One involves actions, one doesn't.

I thought gender and sexuality were fluid.

Isn't that why Lesbians are supposed to have sex with women that still have penises?

total BS

women are never forced to raise a child they don't want to raise..

ever heard of Adoption?

where... you know..

nobody has to be slaughtered to solve a problem?

Yay, Oklahoma! I lived there once...

Do you have any idea of the physical and emotional toll of pregnancy?

I haven’t had kids yet so I can’t say I know, but have you ever thought that women’s bodies were made to reproduce? And it’s been done for ages. It’s not like it’s the first time in history someone has done it.

Well I guess the RW is correct. We are losing freedoms under Biden.

Everyone agrees a declining birth rate is a positive for a nation. Abortion is NOT the way to achieve it.

My wife had 2. There is a physical toll. It messes up your joints. It can bring on diabetes. it can bring on other physical issues. Our first caused a hernia that had to be operated on. our second made a tiny cyst grow to the point of requiring a hysterectomy. And there is an emotional toll of carrying for 9 months. And to force a woman to go through that for a child that is not wanted is cruel.

I’m sorry that your wife had troubles. If someone gets pregnant who didn’t want to, it’s not the child’s fault.

Btw, my mom had 8 kids. She’s still as spry as anyone.

That you can’t answer my question kinda illustrates my point…

Don't be stupid.

There are ways to tell if someone's been raped. How do they go about determining it now?

Expecting a 12 or 13 year old girl to carry a pregnancy to term, just because you're afraid someone might lie about it, is fucking disgusting...
