Just heard on the news today that the decline in oil prices has forced Iraq to reduce its police and military forces.
Is our withdrawal still dependent on the Iraqi's "stepping up"? If economic conditions cause them to "step down", do we still leave?
Maybe it's just my imagination, but the whole situation in Iraq gives me the impression that we have been played like a puppet on a string from the beginning of this war. We seem to be very good at catching the bad guys and doing a number on them, but nothing ever seems to be resolved.
In a way, it reminds me of the war on drugs.
