Ohtani has just pitched 7 shutout innings and hit 3 home runs in game 4 of the NLDS.

Reggie Jackso 3hr off Bob Welch in tight game at NY much more thrilling. They pitched inside too.

George Brett vs. NYY in nailbiters going deep 3X to get a win. Those were real.

Last night? Mostly dull. Like a video game now. Almost predictable?

The SEA series is exciting. And I won a little bit parlaying the two games together. Makes it more exciting for me.

as has been the case for the yankees for the past 20 years and the Astros as well the last 10.
to add on to that every sense the mid 90;s MLB baseball has been as corrupt as the NFL cartel is which also started around the same time, the early 2000's. very close together the two most corrupt professional sports.i dont follow basketball the other sport that is in the top 3 as the most popular but i have heard others around here say it it as well.

Nobody ever knocks him down at the plate? The gamblers got a free ride. Another Pujols of modern times bashing long balls. Reach out. No worries.

Pitching? Eh. Seen better. MIL was struggling since last ten games of the year. We'll see.
Please stop. Ohtani is an absolute monster. No one’s saying he’s the best pitcher to ever throw a ball but he’s starting pitcher on every MLB team the dodgers being. WS champ and going back. He’s a top 5 hitter. Name another starting pitcher who’s even allowed to swing bat let alone tne best hitter on his team. In an era of hyper specialization he’s a unicorn. 1 of 1.

Again. Its batting practice for him in MLB. No one is going up & in on Mr. Universe. Too easy for him. Another untouchable. He's good, yes. Huge also. Others worry about chin music. He got hot one game. Why they kept pitching to him last night, beyond me? He was starting to hit it harder G3 last AB. I missed the first 3-run HR.

He is big on the mound, pitching downhill. Good yes. Great, huh?

Many US players (shortstop) are also best pitchers on any team in they play on but pulled out of it for specialization. Dumb Americans. Money talks. Lower injury risk?

Dodgers are not a lock for anything. MIL slumped going in. Never got anything going.

We've heard this same song and dance for 50 years. Team A is unbeatable! Until they end up in G7 vs. a rag tag WC team. Look at OAK bash Bro in 88, 89. They got destroyed by Mickey Hatcher and Chris Sabo. Uh yes. I've seen it all.

Thread title wrong also. (6 innings)

Shohei Ohtani delivered a historic performance, hitting three home runs and pitching six shutout innings with 10 strikeouts, becoming the first player in MLB history to achieve three home runs and 10 strikeouts in a single game, including both regular season and postseason play.

Are they pitching to Ohtani differently than everyone else? Are they throwing all the other hitters "chin music" and Ohtani is some special case? They arent. He's just a better hitter than 99% of MLB players

He's top 5-10 in basically every stat that matters so far in this PO's. He's not the best Pitcher in MLB but again we are pairing it with the hitting. That's what makes him unique. Even the best pitcher in the league only affects 1 out of every 3-4 games in a series. He affects all of them on the mound and/or at the plate. So at best your ace might pitch twice in a 7-game series. Ohtani gets you the 2 games pitching and 25-30 at bats.

Nope. That's not real. Maybe in HS but most of them wouldn't be starters in college and definitely wouldn't be starters in the MLB. Pitching isn't just throwing the ball hard.

They are a lock to go the WS as the defending champs.

What does that have to do with Ohtani's greatness?
