That worries us all. Wearing the masks helped many from catching Covid and keeping 3 feet distance when shopping probably saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Politicians often exaggerate by blaming their opponent for the pandemic du jour which just makes persons who have health educations mad because it slaughters the truth unfairly.

I was an NBC specialist in the military, and I used to be one of the people that had to decontaminate ships after they had been exposed to nuclear, biological, and chemical agents. I know from experience that a paper mask only helps prevent you from spreading diseases, a little. Not completely.
I also know that taking your mask off to speak into a mic spreads disease, and so does taking your mask off to eat. And I knew that COVID was bunk because of the way they weren't properly disposing of used masks and gloves. They are classified as toxic bio-waste, but they just let people throw them in the waste basket.

Most of the spread of the disease isn't directly thru the air but from contact with the virus on surfaces. It also can get on your hair, hands, clothing, anywhere. I used to catch the flue from door knobs and using public restrooms. Some of the other ways is typing on a keyboard that somebody infected had typed on before me at work.

I haven't had a cold or flu in over 4 years because I don't use public restrooms anymore.

Elders have a tendency to loose bladder control after a bout with winter's flu strains and forget to take care of themselves.

I'm glad you have found a useful panacea for avoiding contagious illness. Your influence may save a life or many by those who just read your above post and learn what a wise person can accomplish. And some of them may teach it to their children and best friends. Kudos for sharing a plan that keeps you well.

It doesn't matter how many times you wash your hands. You would have to wear a complete HASMAT suit to keep from being infected if the situation was as bad as they claimed. And then do a complete decontamination as soon as you got home.

People of this generation's terrible pandemic were not acquainted with the far worse American pandemic flu of around 1918 (?) One of my dearest elderly church friends in the 1970s had a husband who died of the illness around that time, and she remained unmarried for life. She still loved him till the day she died.

Pandemics are not caused by petty political gossip. Pandemics are just hell when it takes too many lives and they are caused by successful life forms we can't even see without an electric micron microscope.
