I live close to Canadian border, and I haven't been to Canada since the last summer, but according to few of my Canadian colleagues, life in Canada is starting to be much more expensive, especially price of groceries. Since they've been paid in US dollars, and due to the exchange rate, they haven't been hit that hard as others, but they're saying its getting worse.

When they said how much they're paying for meat and dairy, I couldn't believe, so here we go, can any of Canadians visiting this board confirm or deny any of it.

Along with it, there are more and more bad financial news about Canadian banks that have being shorted, and companies that can't generate enough cash to support their businesses.

A top-performing U.S. hedge fund is shorting Canada's banks

More people are going broke in Canada as interest rates rise

Think it's hard to build big projects in Canada now? Wait till you see the Liberals' new bill

Foreign investors are seriously avoiding Canada ā€” despite Morneauā€™s denialism

Inflation unexpectedly accelerates as Canadians pay 28% more for airfares, 15% more for vegetables

Canadians, what's going on?

Price of living is outrageous now, as you suggest, especially on food.

Toronto in particular is already belly up and dependent on hand outs. We have massive government here and too many low performers work for the government making twice as much as their private sector counterparts, with bigger pensions, benefits and less demands. Often based on their lineage, we are a Constitutional Monarchy for a reason.

Over 50% decrease in foreign business investment for the first time since the crash of 2008, more businesses are closing than being created. Most overvalued housing industry and highest individual debt.

I warned Canada that stabbing allies in the back would cost us, and it has. Oh well, I tried to do my part and they've destroyed me. If I had been born an American the sky would have been the limit.

That's pretty much what I've heard from my colleagues.

The part of your post I don't get is: "I tried to do my part and they've destroyed me."

Could you clarify?

It's too long of a story, those who have read my posts on here understand.

In short, I made multiple levels of governments aware of covert operatives that worked for Canadian police who were in IBM and other corporations. When they interfered with my careers, threatened me and worse, I reached out to the U.S and foreign governments directly, gave them details, names and whatnot of managers, HR department tampering that Canada was engaged in, at various U.S corporations here.

I'm a Whistleblower who has publicly challenged them to recant my allegations and, offered for myself and those I name to take a polygraph exam.

If a U.S company moves to Canada, you are essentially just providing jobs for the government and undercover police apparatus. Certainly at the Executive and upper management level. This will be the system America will have if you embrace socialism. I guarantee it. Your capitalism and individual liberty will not exist if you become like Canada and other global socialist systems

This idea of selling intimacy for financial gain has become popular among students who are burdened with massive student debt.

One of the worldā€™s largest such sites recently pointed out that Canadian students are carrying more than 28 billion dollars in debt.

The site says it has 330,000 sugar baby and sugar daddy listings in Canada.

In its annual report it says the number of university students in Canada seeking such an ā€˜arrangementā€™ has risen 44 per cent in one year.

"Not American" is a weak argument for being a Canadian. That country has been a thankless dependent of the U.S. for too long. It's time they put on their big boy pants and act like a partner or else go pound tar sand. And tell Quebec the same thing.
