I'm smoking less. Went from 3 packs a day in CA to less than 1 here.

Taking less pain meds too! Stress equals more pain and less stress less smoking, less pain least that's my figuring

Everyone is so nice! Workers hired "yes sir, no sir" people in public "good day, good morning, good afternoon" I haven't had to be an asshole but once but that was dealing with Bank of America screwing up again

Menthol cigs again! They banned those in CA, they even banned plastic bags at stores but not here and I love having those to put in my bathroom trash bags or my doggie pooper scooper. Sometimes its the little things

Also no red light cameras here, no tweakers being a nuisance and 2A rights are in full effect! Constitutional Carry! Concealed, Open or otherwise

The worst thing I can think of is the 3% charge anytime you use a debit card. Seems the debt machine company forces places to do that so they get a cut. Such bullshit how they dip into pockets still everything is much cheaper than CA and I'm putting the premium gas in my car still saving over $2 a gallon

The food has been muah chefs kiss delish! TexMex, BBQ, haven't had dunkin donuts in years! And they have 2 great cheesesteak places here

Looks like there's lots to do besides beaches and with a park next to my house the dogs and I are going to get plenty of exercise

All in all I'm very happy I decided to make the move. House is all unpacked and I've finally figured out all my high tech gadgetry. Smart Thermostat, Doorbell cam and back gate cam. Got a simpli safe to hook up too but tomorrow is DL, Tags and Registration day. After that my move is 100% complete along with getting my DoD retirement ID.

I encourage everyone else who is MAGA if you're in a blue state RUN as fast as you can to freedom you won't regret it I promise you!

Having lived in Texas for 25 years, I love that state.

Except for one thing: Every damned thing in Texas either bites, stings, itches, or has thorns on it. :laughing0301:

Black widow spiders, fire ants, copperheads and water moccasin snakes, rattlers...

Worse thing that ever got ahold of me was a stinging asp. I didn't see the thing as I brushed up against it. Two minutes later I had a big red welt on my elbow and my whole arm went numb all the way up to my shoulder.

Thankfully I havent felt the sting of any of those yet. Just lots of bugs in the house like in Florida but got my bait and traps down so this will get taken care of.

Very informative .

I thank whoever that I was so fortunate to be born into such a green and pleasant land .
And it helps explain so many of the unfortunate conditions that Americans display to the rest of the world .
Fancy living in a jungle Mr Yellow Person , and being force fed such ghastly and unhealthy food .

I am lucky . I once saw a snake and also saw Americans eating miserable looking meals. Humiliations .

Poor people . So cruel .

Spray your yard every year and most of that goes away. Those Harris Roach Tablets are cheap and do a great job inside the house. Other bugs eat them too; they're borax, or is it boron, don't recall, so not very toxic to humans. Ants are probably the most persistent pests I deal with.

Texans are good people. If China ever invades America, Texas will.be the last state to capitulate. It will take China awhile too.

We're a lot less 'good' now; lots of Red River wetbacks in the 1980's up to the present, and being Californicated as well as overrun with criminal illegals.

Other than the crazy MAGA politics, Texans and the area are great to visit. Book mark this, and tell us what you think a year from now.

You should have seen what Perry and Abbott have done to the educational system from bottom to top: wrecked a wonderful public school and higher education system.

Evidently you've never been to NY Chicago LA or Detroit and seen a really messed up public school system.

Pain meds? Is that par for the course for everyone in Ca? Can you still get the stuff legally in Texas? Funny how Beryl got by without a comment.

Lived on Long Island all my life. And as fucked up as is, it’s still far better than anywhere else I’ve ever been.

Try out a pipe(endless variety of tobaccos) if U R trying to cut down the amount U smoke. Those ole smudge pots REALLY deliver the nicotine like 2/3 draws & one is set for a couple hours, & plenty of throat hit! If U can get over the oral addiction(starts @ our very first milking) then just go with nic/patches/nic gum, like all the benefits of the nicotine(see link below) & avoid the negative chemicals found in the smoke.

That yes sir/no sir respect towards folks is super critical as it lets other folks both know ones quality of person & that one also RESPECTS/CARES for them as both your neighbors & fellow Americans. How U R describing folks that reside in Texas is what we folks in EASTERN Oregon/Washington strive to be like. The closer to the Idaho border Washingtonians/Oregonians get the more civilized folks become. Idaho folks are living the dream & it sounds like Texas folks are too, like this is fantastic news!

My daughter, when she was young, liked to pick up bugs. Unfortunately, she found one of those. She's 44 now, so it wasn't deadly. You could've heard her screaming a mile away at the time. They look so furry, like you could pet one.
