That's not really important though. A person doesn't really need to go to University to be educated. I have met Anarchists with high school diplomas that read three books a week that are more knowledgeable than many post doctoral students.
The point is, you need to be well read, have an open mind, and not have your information and thoughts be formed for you by propaganda and opinion makers.
You should know a little something about the topics of which you speak.
There are some moderators on this site that have on their signature the "Political Compass." That is a good site. I recommend it to all people here. Professors at both schools taught several charting methods, but that site is standard. Of course, since Universities are heavily funded by foundations and endowments, you are going to have classes that are biased toward Statism, and liberal Democracy, so that political classification system is also necessarily biased, but it is the most commonly used classification system used in the west I believe. That is what I base that critique on.
But even using THAT chart, Obama still comes off as being a centrist. Look it up. Talk to the Mods and Admins here that like that site, they'll tell you.
Frankly, I don't put much stock in those charts, the questions are loaded and biased.
For instance, the first question;

WTF??!! It's obviously designed by the CFR and the globalists, it stands for everything I'm against. I'm out, right there. It is NOT inevitable. It's like starting out a questionnaire;
"If slavery and child pornography are inevitable, it should primarily be for pleasure not profit."

I'll not be a party to this quiz, you won't label me on your chart. lol I've taken it before though. I land somewhere around the same place as the Dali Lama and Gandhi. On their chart I'm a unique mix of Libertarian and Progressive ideologies. If John Lennon and Ayn Rand had a child, I'd be him.
