Obamacare overcharged healthy & young people that needed insurance to help fund the cost of insurance for sick people

For the same reason you started your other, equally inane thread on the ACA.

You don't understand why we make risk pools and manage our risk through them.

At all.

As a result, you don't understand what individual mandate was. You don't understand what it was designed to do. If you did, you would not have started either of these inane threads.

You are failing at gaslighting. Why should taxpayers be paying for Obamacare???

Because it's cheaper than not paying for it. Not that you understand that.

But they would be paying much less, if the Republicans had not deleted the individual mandate.

Bu you don't and will never understand that, despite my best efforts. As evidenced by your embarrassingly dumb gaslighting comment.

How is it cheaper than not paying it?

I don't feed the sealions, sorry.

This is a fine opportunity for you to pick up a new habit: informing yourself.

Start with indigent care costs and the economic costs of illness and early death. And you will just be scratching the surface.

If you are genuinely curious, you will do this. If you are not, you will sit here on the armpit of the internet and sealion your little heart out.

Your call.

So, you just want socialized medicine.

I thought many of the young and healthy people didn't enroll from day 1 of O'Care. They didn't have the income required to pay the penalty. Some probably didn't file income taxes.

ObamaCare was passed on a partisan vote when the dems had 60 votes in the Senate. It was legally done, but totally partisan and it's no wonder the GOP tried to kill it since they had no skin in the game. And still trying. Would've killed it if McCain hadn't betrayed his party.

I believe the democrats realized that ObamaCare would require gov't subsidies cuz they knew they wouldn't get enough young and healthy people to join up. It was always a ploy to take another step towards getting more gov't involvement in national healthcare.

Actually, you have that reversed.

Obama did everything he could to try to get even ONE Republican to vote for it, to the point where ObamaCare ended up looking like RomneyCare writ large.

And even though Republicans said they wanted something like RomneyCare for years, when the Black Guy Did It, it suddenly became EVIL INCARNATE!!!

The reason why young people aren't signing up is because your boy Trump got rid of the tax penalty for the uninsured.

Why should they pay for someone else's health insurance?

I would say 'Basic humanity", but I don't think you understand that concept.

How about practicality? If you are healthy, you are already paying for someone else's health coverage (not necessarily insurance).

I would have no problem replacing the ACA with a public option. The people who opposed that were- wait for it- the insurance companies, who were afraid every small employer would simply opt to put their wage slaves on the Public Option.
